Story
Olivia is a 10-year-old female dog, weighing about 13 pounds. She is friendly and affectionate towards people, enjoying their company and attention. However, Olivia does not get along well with other dogs and prefers to be the sole pet in the household. Additionally, she has a heart condition, which requires careful management and attention to her health and activity levels. Given her medical needs and preference for human companionship, Olivia would thrive in a quiet, loving home where she can receive the dedicated care and affection she deserves from her owners. All our dogs will come to you spayed and fully vetted. Please fill out our adoption application form at https://www.4dogsfarmrescue.org/adoption ##2211361##

Story
Lina is a sweet, quirky, fuzzy little ball of love. At just under 7 pounds she really is a compact companion. She is 3 years old and sadly her elderly owner passed away and she has been being fostered for the last 6 months in a home with two kids ages 8 and 10. Lina was born with 'swimmers' hips and walks a little different but this doesn't slow her down or bother her in any way. She also has an underbite, again this doesn't seem to bother her. She feels comfortable in her crate at night but loves a good snuggle during bedtime stories before. She is known for getting once a day zoomies usually before bedtime cuddles or occasionally in the afternoon. This is quite entertaining as she seems to think she is a big fierce animal and acts accordingly. She regularly takes a mid day nap and is happy to lounge around but likes to be close to her person. She has a favorite toy, "Lambie"... it is a cat toy and is actually a mouse with a tiny jingle bell inside, lol. Patience required

Story
Charlie was picked up near the beginning of January and was taken to the San Martin Shelter. He was a stray who was pretty matted and dirty so the shelter shaved him down. Charlie waited for someone to come and find him but no one came. He was adopted but was returned the next day. Another couple came and took Charlie to foster. They discovered something very important about Charlie. Charlie is deaf!!! Charlie didn't know any deaf dog signs to be able to communicate with humans and he had no way of telling humans that! The couple who fostered him felt that they were not experienced with teaching him so they called CIW. We have worked with another deaf little poodle and felt we could help Charlie. He has already learned some command signs and is learning others. He is a very smart little boy who just wants to please and to be loved. He is a healthy little who is current on his vaccinations, is neutered, and  is microchipped with lots of puppy energy. Charlie needs a family who want to spend lots of time with this little guy and give him time to learn how to communicate. Is that your family?. Please note: Charlie (two) is a Special Needs dog.Charlie (two) should be adopted with his best friendCharlie (two) has some separation anxietyNeeds a securely fenced yardMore information & application [ts=1747342914&src=aap]

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, May 3rd from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $900 Meet the Bean Trio! Edamame, Cannellini & Garbanzo9–10 week old Poodle-CKC Spaniel Mixes | Non-Shedding | Low Bark | 100% Adorable A LITTER LIKE NO UDDER. Wait, wrong food group. Anyway… These three gourmet nuggets were rescued from a shelter and are now living the sweet life in foster care. They’re cuddly, curious, and so cute you’ll forget what your original to-do list was. We call them The Bean Trio, and they’re everything you’d expect from a group named after legumes: soft, squishy, full of energy, and slightly gassy (hey, they’re babies!). A Day in the Life of the Bean Babies 6:30–7am: Rise and shine! Potty break, then it’s breakfast time: wet food, kibble buffet, and a side of dramatic squeaks if you're late. 9am: Nap time, because chasing your own tail is exhausting. 12pm: Lunch, backyard zoomies, and more quality time with their foster siblings and the family dog. Afternoon: Power naps, bully stick chewing, and occasional lap invasions on the couch. 6pm: Dinner is served (and devoured). 8:30–9pm: Tuck-in time! They're cozy in their pen after a final potty break. Middle of the night: Quick pee break (we’re working on the all-night thing!) then back to bed without protest—unless they hear the cheese drawer. They are getting used to a potty routine and learning that crying doesn't get them out of nap jail (Edamame is still emotionally processing this fact). Meet the Beans Edamame (aka “Eddy”): The Party Bean This girl is the social butterfly of the bean salad. She wants to play. She wants to cuddle. She wants your soul. She’ll politely cry when it’s nap time because fun was just getting started, but give her a lap and she’ll smother you with kisses. Cannellini (aka “Nini”): The Tiny But Mighty Bean Don’t let the size fool you—this sweet little wrist-hugger has main character energy. She loves snuggling into your shoulder and will throw paws if her siblings start beef. She’s gentle, soulful, and just the right amount of spicy.Pocket-sized warrior. Nap-sized snuggler. Garbanzo (aka “Gonzo”): The Chill Bean He’s your mellow man. A big fan of chew toys, cozy blankets, and snack breaks. He has a special skill of playing hard and then suddenly collapsing into your lap like a furry microwaved potato.60% snuggles, 40% chew monster. Training Notes Potty trained on pads AND grass (they’re dual-surface certified). Used to being in a pen and learning to self-soothe. Working on crate training and nighttime potty routines. Teething stage = lots of chewing, so keep your flip-flops high.  Good With... Currently living with Kids (10, 12, 17) – they LOVE being snuggled by tiny humans. Dogs – they think the family dog is their mom. He’s flattered but confused. Cats – most puppies if introduced at this age will just consider them playmates! Why You'll Love These Beans They’re: Hilariously clumsy Unreasonably adorable Insanely smart (they learned the bedtime drill faster than some toddlers) And our favorite thing? Watching all three bunny-hop through the backyard like caffeinated cotton balls. Note from foster home: We will miss them terribly, but we know they’re ready for their forever homes. Each one will fill your heart, your lap, and probably your laundry basket with love.May 12, 2025, 6:06 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $850 Meet Aura – The 13lb Love Magnet with Built-In Happiness Mode  Age: 3–4 years old Breed: Poodle-miniature Schnauzer mix Coat: Non-shedding (aka: bring on the black clothes) Weight: 13 lbs of snuggly, squeaky-toy-chasing perfection If you're looking for a dog who's equal parts cuddle bug, social butterfly, and occasional squirrel enthusiast, allow us to introduce Aura—a pint-sized, curly-haired delight whose mission in life is to make everyone fall in love with her. And spoiler alert: she’s very good at it. A Day with Aura Looks Like This: You wake up around 7:30 a.m. to a polite little dog tail-thumping at the edge of your bed. She’s ready to start her day with a quick potty break, then it’s time for breakfast and lap snuggles while you pretend to read emails. Around mid-morning, you head out for a short walk, where Aura investigates the world with the kind of joy only a dog who really believes she could catch a squirrel exudes. During the workday, Aura rotates between your lap, a fluffy dog bed, and lightly judging squirrels through the window. She’ll occasionally try to start a squeaky toy party, or convince your other dog to join in. (She got her shy foster sister to play by day four—Aura is basically magic.) After dinner, it’s another walk, more cuddles, and maybe a few zoomies before winding down. She sleeps peacefully through the night like the little curly angel she is. Aura's Greatest Hits: Cuddler status: Expert. Will nap on your lap, lean into your chest, or rest her chin on your knee like she’s auditioning for the role of “most precious dog alive.” People skills: A+ socialite. She bonds fast and loves everyone—humans, dogs, probably even squirrels if they’d give her a chance. Play style: She loves plush squeaky toys and is learning fetch, which mostly involves her looking adorable while sprinting in the general direction of the toy. Dog-friendly: Absolutely! She got her aloof foster sister to play, which is basically wizardry. Cat-compatible? She was curious but polite. With the right intro, probably yes! Potty trained? 90% there. Mostly outside, with a couple polite pad uses. She learns fast. Leash skills: Enthusiastic with light twirling, quickly improving. Aura Would Be Perfect For: Someone who wants a built-in best friend. She’d thrive in a home where her people are around often, or who love bringing a well-behaved little companion along for coffee runs, errands, or working from dog-friendly patios. She’s up for adventure—but only if there's a nap at the end. Whether you're single and need a snuggly shadow, a couple looking to add joy to your day, or a chill family with time to give, Aura is ready to love you like you invented treats. Fun Fact: Aura once convinced a famously “no thanks” resident dog to play within 4 days. She’s a love magnet, a social sorceress, and a tiny joy factory all rolled into one perfectly-groomed, brush-friendly package. Adopt Aura—because she’s not just friendly, she’s pure sunshine with paws. Let her bring her glow to your life. May 14, 2025, 7:10 am

Story
Macie is a sweet, silly girl who is about 5-8 years old and 15.5 pounds.  She loves her foster mom’s dogs and is sweet to her cat. She was closed down and ill when we pulled her from the shelter. Every day her personality is blooming a bit more. She is a real homebody and will walk around the block, but would rather stay home and hang out.  She is vaccinated, chipped and spayed and has had a recent dental. Macie is a special needs dog. She needs to take medication morning and evening for her heart murmur and arthritis. She also has ointment for dry eye. Macie was a stray so we don't know how she got to this state, whether an accident or genetics, but she readily takes her meds in pill pockets and she is a wonderful companion. Her medications and  supplements cost about $100 per month and she is a dog that will need regular grooming. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Macie is $300. If you are interested in adopting Macie, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. March 5, 2025, 12:45 am

Story
This little gem is a medical special needs pup. Sasha is a very sweet and easy going 3 year old Bichon mix; she is about 11 pounds. She loves all people and dogs and enamors everyone she meets. She walks well on leash, sleeps through the night in her crate, and does relatively well with her alone time. She has an adorable way of getting one's attention and loves to play with other dogs. Unfortunately Sasha was most likely hit by a car at some point and her spine is broken in her lower back. She has full use of all her legs, but she's completely incontinent. Her foster assists her to empty her bladder 3-4 times per day (easy to do, and a potential adopter could be taught to do it). If she is assisted to empty her bladder, her diaper stays dry and her fur stays clean. Due to her condition, Sasha is prone to UTIs, but helping her to empty her bladder regularly decreases this potential. Luckily she doesn't show any signs of pain and has a full life expectancy. Sasha will need to live with someone who is home most of the time. She'd probably do best in a home with a yard, so she doesn't always have to be in a diaper, but she would also be an easy dog for an apartment dweller as she doesn't necessarily have to be walked first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Since Sasha is "non-shedding, she will need regular grooming. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Sasha is $200. If you are interested in adopting Sasha, please complete our online adoption application at  https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/   . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. We will consider applicants outside the 9-county San Francisco Bay Area for Sasha, as long as applicant is able to travel to Oakland for meet and greet, and pick up. Story
Loki is appx 4 yrs old, possibly an American eskimo mix! He weights about 30lbs, medium sized. He likes his daily walks outside, walks well on leash but he tends to bark at other dogs when he sees them so he would need continuous training and reminder to correct that behavior. He does fine with other dogs at home but he likes to hog the couch to himself 😅 he would be a great pup for someone who's active and take him on outdoor activities! He's very food motivated and not a picky eater. He does fine with other people! Please email internationalpawangels@gmail.com for adoption inquiries.
