Story
Meet Max: Your Velcro Best Friend with a Big Heart (Literally ) IMax is an 8-year-old miniature poodle weighing in at a perfectly portable 14 pounds—and he ispacked with personality. This little guy came into foster care after a rough patch, but his health is now stable and his love for life is louder than ever. Max is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and completely potty trained (a true gentleman). He loves the good things in life: going for walks, riding shotgun in the car, playing fetch, squeaking every toy he owns, and most importantly—sleeping right next to his person. Personal space? Max says that’s overrated. He’s extremely loyal and will happily become your full-time shadow. If you’re looking for a dog who will love you with his whole entire heart (and then some), Max is your guy. Now, every leading man has his quirks Max prefers to be the center of attention, so he’s looking for an only-dog home where he can truly shine. He also loves to chase anything that moves—cats, squirrels, rabbits—basically if it runs, Max is intrigued. Because he does resource guard, he would do best in an adult-only home where his boundaries can be respected. Health-wise, Max has a grade 3/6 heart murmur and will need twice-daily heart medication for life. He also has allergies and thrives on a hydrolyzed protein diet, which he’ll likely continue long-term. None of this slows him down—Max is still full of joy, spunk, and cuddles. Max isn’t just looking for a home—he’s looking for his person. Someone to be loyal to, snuggle with, and love endlessly. In return, he promises to be your devoted, pint-sized sidekick for life. Interested in adopting Max? Please fill out a Statement of Interest with the Alternative Humane Society and come meet this very special boy. ##2581369##

She was rescued from an illegal breeding facility in South Korea, where dogs are kept for production rather than love. Biscuit spent her early years without the comfort every dog deserves — but those days are behind her now. She’s safe, cared for, and quietly hopeful about what comes next. At five years old, Biscuit is wonderfully settled. She enjoys calm environments, soft routines, and being close to her people. Story
Hi, I’m Princess. I’m a 7 year old toy Poodle. I’m a calm, gentle little sweetheart. I love staying close to my person and will follow you from room to room like a quiet little shadow. Warm laps are quickly becoming one of my favorite things, and nothing makes me happier than curling up for cuddles. I haven’t quite figured out how to play with squeaky toys yet, but the sound definitely fascinates me. I get along well with cats, though if one gets a little too playful, I’ll gently growl to set a boundary. I do the same with very hyper dogs - rough housing just isn’t my style. My potty training is going wonderfully. I go outside regularly, especially after meals, and I respond really well when you tell me “go potty.” I love being praised and cuddled afterward — that’s the best reward. I’m also great with baths, brushing, and even blowdrying; spa days don’t bother me one bit. I can sleep in my crate if you need me to, but I’d much rather be wherever you are. I’m usually very quiet, and if I bark, it’s only because I want to be close to you. I love humans with my whole heart and will stay by your side indoors, outdoors, and everywhere in between. I’m looking for a calm, loving home where I can feel safe, cherished, and adored. Could that be with you? -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Story
Cheetah is a 4 year old 10 pound poodle/terrier. She’s soo sweet but very anxious. She’s very quiet, & stays in one spot and balls up and falls asleep instantly. When she eats she likes to move all the kibble out the bowl and eat it off the floor sometimes. She’s very shy. She has been around other small dogs and they get along great, but she doesn’t really seem to want to play with them. I do find her sometimes playing alone like chewing on a toy or even jumping on and off the couch for fun since that’s something she recently learned how to do. Overall she’s very sweet, quiet & loving. She sleeps the whole night, and in the be. She is doing well with potty training & pees in the dog park. Likes to pee in spots and does really well with popping first thing in the morning. She’s just very anxious, doesn’t like loud noises She is good with children, and sits well in a car. She is definitely food motivated. She’s just soo sweet, and she does this thing where she will just look into your eyes and do a little jump it’s soo cute.
