🐶FOSTER TO ADOPT🐶 Liberty is looking for forever home!! Liberty was left behind at a property in rural Kentucky, very pregnant and very scared. NKL brought her into our program so she could have safe place to give birth. Liberty has now raised her pups and wants a life all to her own. Liberty is a very goofy, floppy eared Treeing Walker Coonhound. She loves being wherever you are and lots of scratches! Liberty does pretty well at being house broken but does have some accidents. Hopefully being the center of attention will help that. Liberty was kept in a kennel on the property and because of the long days spent in it, she chewed on the bars. She is missing her front teeth because of it. But that doesnt stop her from eating whatever you hand her! And she would likely not be happy in a crate. We think that Liberty is around a 2 years old. She is up to date on all her vaccines but will be spayed in October when her milk dries up completely. If you are interested in adopting Liberty, please fill out an application on our website!

Maggie Mae. If you looked up perfect in the dictionary, you’d find her picture. She’s the sweetest girl who loves lap naps, endless kisses, kids, cats, dogs, and sneaking midnight cheese with the teenager. She’s been part of our family since 2021 and has always kept a watchful eye on our kids. But Maggie’s whole world was our chocolate Lab, Skye. They were inseparable. After Skye passed away from disc disease, Maggie just hasn’t been the same. She looks for her behind every closed door, whines, barely eats, and seems so lost without her best friend. With our son’s disabilities and the care he needs, we aren’t in a position to bring another dog home ourselves. But Maggie is lonely, and she deserves a four-legged best friend to share her days with.We can’t replace Skye, but we hope to help Maggie find that special bond again. If you’re looking for a perfect, love bug to add to your home, please consider our sweet Maggie Mae.

Tank may be a bit older, but that don't stop him! He is very energetic, goofy, and curious! He tries his hardest to sing, but he's just a little out of tune! He is so stinkin cute and very sweet. He would do best in a home with a fenced in yard as he is just a hound dog and can't help but follow all the smelly smells the world has to offer! He's a great dog, knows basic commands, knows when it's time to settle down, and all he's missing is a home of his own!!

Story
Buddy will be 4 years old on X-mas day. We got him from a disabled man who was overwhelmed with buddy's training and housebreaking. We thought we could handle him, since we have had animals all our lives. I have never surrendered an animal in my life before, so this is not something I take lightly. I have tried the past 2 years to train and teach buddy how to behave, and I was not successful. Now in the past 2 years my health has deteriorated, I can no longer work, and have become allergic to dogs. I can no longer afford to care for buddy, nor do I have the strength or energy to do so. I don't want to have to turn him over to a shelter where they will kill him, but the private ones in the area that are no kill are at capacity. I am asking for someone who has no other pets or children, that can give buddy the attention he needs to take him and give him a chance. He is best when he only has 1 owner/handler, and is the center of attention.
