Story
Tex has been a part of our family since he was just 4 months old, when we welcomed him home from a humane society and he’s been full of personality, energy, and loyalty ever since. Even at 10 (he turned 10 in January!), he still loves playing ball, being outside, and when he's not on the move, cuddling up under a blanket with his person. He truly just wants to be by your side. He’s in great health—our vet always comments on how healthy he is. Tex is fully potty trained, does well home alone for extended periods, and is a great little “security system.” This is a very hard decision for us, but with a growing family and another baby on the way, our home is no longer the best fit. Tex would thrive as the only pet in a home without children. Tex deserves a home where he can continue to be the center of attention, get plenty of playtime, and enjoy all the love he has to give. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful companion with lots of personality, Tex could be your perfect match.

Story
Charlie is a sweet, curious, 5 year old girl. She loves her tummy & ear scratches. She loves running and exploring outdoors. However she is reactive to loud noises, fast movements, and new people. She would do best in a household without any other pets or children. She does currently live with another dog that she gets along with but a slow introduction would be needed. Charlie has a lot of anxiety and is on fluoxetine. She is so sweet and loving with myself & my husband & a few family members outside of the household that she grew up knowing but is very stand offish and does not like strangers or a lot of activity. She does resource guard (to our other dog, never us). We love her so much but we have a 7mo baby and cannot take the risk. We would love her to find a loving home where she can run & have a loving owner she can bond with! Please contact me with any questions!!

Meet Luna! Luna has been described as affectionate, warm, and cuddly. She LOVES to go on walks and car rides! She knows sit, stay, and lay down, she is eager to learn more and is very motivated by hot dogs. When outside on a sunny day she can be found chasing bird shadows! She enjoys being close to her owners. Luna has had mixed interactions with other dogs, she has done well at a doggy daycare but does not like to share her home with other dogs. She may prefer to be a solo dog. She can be nervous with new people, but will warm up with patience and a gentle approach. She has not met cats or young children. All introductions to new places and faces should be done slowly. Ask a TCHS staff member for details! *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals. Story
Rescued this sweet boy a little over two years ago and are heartbroken to have to re-home him. Loki was told to be about a year old when we adopted him but soon after we took him to the vet, the vet said he was most likely older. We are thinking he is 4-5 years old. Loki is the sweetest boy with people he knows; he cuddles so close you’d think he’s apart of you! Unfortunately with people he doesn’t know, that’s a different story. Mainly with men, Loki is afraid of them and shows aggressive tendencies, however once he knows the person, he is wonderful. We are hypothesizing he was abused by a male before we rescued him. Loki would thrive in a laidback home where is owner is a homebody. He does well with cats and dogs with proper introductions. He would benefit from no kids due to their lack of predictability.
