This cool guy is a 3-year-old, 79-pound, Treeing Walker Coonhound. Rudy is a goofy guy who likes to smell everything in sight, including you! In Rudy's previous home, he lived with dogs, cats, and young children. He was a friend to them all! He loves being outdoors when the weather permits but enjoys curling up inside with his people as well. Rudy would do best in an environment with lots of space to run and explore. He's a phenomenally sweet boy with so much potential! He can't wait to learn new things and fall in love with his new family. Rudy is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. You can visit him Tuesdays through Sundays from 8:30 to 5:00 PM!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Frank is an 8 1/2 year old coonhound who came to the shelter as a surrender because his owner is having health issues. Frank is just a good ol' hound dog who did live most of his life outside. He was trained to hunt coyotes and has a few scars to show it. He's a big and strong dude with a kind and somewhat mellow disposition. We will need to get him neutered soon and his fee is $150. We think Frank would make a nice companion for someone who has the space for him. He doesn't ask for a lot and is very loyal. As a hound he definitely follows his nose so a secure environment is important. He is accustomed to the company of other dogs. We think he would be fine with older kids. Cats are probably a no. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. Barnaby is approximately 7 years old now. I did a DNA test & it said he is 66.2% Treeing Walker Coonhound, 18.9% American Foxhound & 14.9% Labrador Retriever. Barnaby is a great dog because he is a sweet, kind and gentle soul with a heart full of love to give. This guy would be a perfect fit for a moderately active household. He does require some daily exercise, but he is middle aged, so he’s good to relax and chill once he’s had some play time. This handsome boy is fully vaccinated, neutered, house-trained & he also knows several tricks. He gets along well with other dogs and he absolutely adores human companionship.
