Hi! My name is Maggie and I'm an 8.5 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound looking for a new home! I'm a sweet girl who would probably prefer to be the only dog in the home, as I'm dog selective. I am still willing to meet your dog to see if we are a good fit. I'm not terribly playful, so I would need a low key fur sibling. I am good with kids, too! Additionally, I would make a great companion dog to someone who is older. I still will need someone with the ability to take me for walks. Please put in an application if you'd like to meet me! I can't wait!  ##1983804##

Story
Hi everyone! My names Trooper!  As I was walking through the forest with my head hung low, I couldn’t help but think about how my life was about to change forever. Would it be for the better or for the worse?  On the one hand, I absolutely loved my job hunting raccoons! And heck, I was the absolute best at it! I was the leader of the pack - called the “rat attack” based off the shape of my snout. And every hounds men in the area knew my distinct bay: low & long! I could tree a raccoon & hold it there for hours if that’s what it took! But on the other hand, I always wondered what it’d be like to have a closer connection with my human. Rather than being put into a kennel with my pack at the end of the hunt, it might be nice to come inside & see what the fireplace looks like & what does the rug on the floor feel like? Is there any type of food other than kibble from a bag?  Well, I don’t know what happened exactly. Did I run & make a wrong turn & get separated from my pack? If so, why didn’t my houndsmen have my GPS collar on? He didn’t dump me, did he? I have no recollection & I hate to make assumptions so I did what I know to do: I followed my sniffer to a campground where I smelled…..HOTDOGS??!!!!!! These nice people were camping in the RV & they let me share a meal before they took me to the local pound. Well we all know what happens from there: nobody came to claim me, I sat in that prison cell for months & when CYP found out that I needed help, a “freedom ride” is what I got!  So here I am living life as a foster dog! Guess what? I’ve had a hotdog every day! I get pieces when I do tricks so I’m going all sorts of tricks!! Everything but sit. I’ll never sit. I hate that. I am going to make a wonderful house dog for somebody. I am going to be the most loyal & loving dog you’ve ever known! Please don’t be scared of my size & past as a hunting dog: I have been cat tested & I’m scared of them! I’ve met horses & I think they are so majestic! I have been agnostic about meeting other dogs - they’re cool but I don’t need them either. While I have not met a child, my foster mom believes that I am going to be the perfect family dog! I will be faithful & protect my family forever! I am going to be the kind of dog who doesn’t like to let me family out of my sight so I hope you like doing outdoorsy adventures that you can take me with you because you know I’ll love to go hiking & relive my glory days in the woods!  You can apply to adopt me at www.crossyourpaws.com Details:4yoNeutered60lbsExcellent family dog KLN 16814 ##2086241##

Story
Hi! My name is Ariel and I’m looking for my forever family. I’m a 6 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound who was found on the streets of WV with a sharp object in my eye. No one came forth to claim me eventhough I was clearly an inside lady who is house trained, crate trained, and loves spending my day snoozing away on the sofa. Don’t let my one eye fool you - I can still sniff out anything that might by close by. I love my foster siblings and do well with other dogs but I like to say hello to cats with my teeth, so my foster mom said I can’t do that (best in a home without cats or really small, fluffy dogs that look like a cat).   ##2107941##

Story
Georgie was found as a stray and taken to a high kill dog pound in West Virginia... Pet Search was contacted and asked if we could rescue him, which we happily did! Georgie is a 7 year old treeing walker coonhound weighing around 55 pounds. He is very lovable and playful and would do well with a family that has older children because of his size. Georgie is housebroken and crate trained but needs to get acclimated to a new schedule. He is fine with larger dogs but has not been cat tested Georgie is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. Applications s are available at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PAPS/Dog or petsearchpa.org KL#03301 Washington PA 15301

Story
Toby is a 1 and 1/2-year-old ginger beagle.  He is very energetic and needs lots of exercise.  He would do best as the only dog.  He does play with the other dogs in the house but likes to be the alpha male and on occasion has growled at the other foster dog.  He likes attention.  He loves his toys and treats.  This handsome beagle is looking for a home where he can be the center of attention and get plenty of exercise. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
AVALON Likes some other dogs Housetrained Crate trained Needs a fence High energy This gorgeous young gal with movie-star looks is Avalon! At 7 months old and 35 pounds, Avalon is all puppy and is still growing. She’d make a great companion for an avid walker, hiker or runner or an active family. A home with a yard where she can burn off her puppy energy by romping and playing would be ideal. Playtime with other dogs is a serious business for Avalon, so supervision while she’s playing is a good idea. Avalon is a beagle/boxer/terrier mix, and we’re guessing that she’ll weigh in the neighborhood of 40 to 50 pounds once she’s an adult. Because of her size, she’ll need supervision around smaller children but should be fine with older ones. She’s cautious around strangers but will warm up to them if given time to get to know them. Avalon’s foster mom says that she a very smart girl and is picking up obedience basics such as “sit,” “wait,” and “come,” and is working on improving her leash manners. Avalon rides well in the car and goes to doggy daycare two or three days a week, where she really seems to enjoy hanging out and playing with her friends there. Her foster mom says she’s very food motivated and “eats like a vacuum” (show us a beagle who doesn’t!), so if there are other dogs in the house, she should be fed separately from them. When it’s time to go to sleep, Avalon is equally happy to snuggle up in a dog bed or people bed – she just wants to be comfy! She’s housetrained with the use of a doggy door. If you’re looking to liven up your days with a sweet, affectionate, energetic companion, Avalon may be the dog you’ve been looking for! NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI). Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full-time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor, or doggie daycare arrangements. We discourage the adoption of puppies to families with children under the age of six, since puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets, hands, feet, and other important parts of your child's anatomy.

Story
PERRY Good on car rides Good w/kids of all ages Housetrained Likes cats Single dog home Low energy/couch potato Not best for apartments Special medical needs Hi, I'm Perry! I'm such a unique and special boy. Last summer I was hit by a car and sustained serious damage to my front legs. One leg needed to be amputated and the other has some nerve damage that never fully recovered. Don’t let that fool you though! I can get around very well, go up and down stairs, jump on the couch and bed, and even play ball for hours. I do have a prosthesis that was specially made for me. I am very dog selective and it has been determined I should be in an only dog home. I adore people, children, cats, and playing outside. If you are looking for a very handsome boy with a survivor story to tell, contact your Midwest BREW adoption counselor for more information about me! NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
