Story
"Ithaca" likes people, especially men, but is not good with other dogs, cats, or other animals due to strong prey instincts. Her owner passed away and I have been fostering her. Ithaca is unspayed. This dog is rather neurotic. Personally, I do not think she should be bred. She DOES walk on a leash quite well. Only seems semi-house broken, has excitement accidents. Needs training. Again, I would not have this dog near any other animals. She is at her happiest when sitting close and snuggling with a person. she is friendly around older children but would probably push over smaller kids with her enthusiasm. She also guards people from other animals.

Meet Farrah, a beautiful 8-month-old Australian Shepherd/Hound mix who’s been on an incredible journey. She came from a very difficult environment with little to no socialization and was once semi-feral. Thanks to months of patience and gentle guidance, Farrah is learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. She’s still timid with new people and unfamiliar situations, but she’s making wonderful progress in her foster home. She’s begun exploring the outdoors, the neighborhood, and what it means to live in a home where she’s safe and loved. Each day, her confidence grows. Farrah's sweet personality is starting to shine—she’s playful, affectionate, and loves to snuggle up on the couch. She also enjoys being around other dogs, who help boost her confidence and show her the ropes. She’ll need a patient and understanding adopter who will continue to support her as she blossoms. With time, love, and encouragement, she’s sure to become a devoted and loving companion. Having a doggy sibling would be a bonus for Farrah!

Meet this brave 8 month old Australian Shepherd/Hound mix who’s been on an incredible journey. She came from a very difficult environment with little to no socialization and was once completely feral. Thanks to months of patience, gentle guidance, and consistent training, she’s slowly learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. She’s still timid with new people and unfamiliar situations, and will need a calm, understanding home willing to continue building her confidence at her pace. But once she begins to trust, her true personality shines—she’s sweet, occasionally cuddly, and loves to play. This girl will thrive with a patient adopter who can provide ongoing training, encouragement, and a predictable routine. Watching her continue to come out of her shell is incredibly rewarding, and with time and love, she has the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion.
