Anderson is wondering if there is a fun loving pup who wants a best friend and pup brother? Anderson is an energetic, happy, loving 2 yr old hound mix (most likely with pointer) who loves to play with everyone he meets from dogs to people to everyone . Andersons biggest issue is that his hound instincts can take over and he can be a little bit of an escape artist. He doesnt go far, but he does love to follow his nose, so a secure tall fence would be ideal for him. Anderson would do best in a home with an active playmate, regular doggy day care or with a family who loves to jog or run with a pup to help him use all that young hound energy. Anderson is good at playing with himself and keeping himself busy as well, but is happiest when playing with other young dogs, big or small, in his foster home. Anderson is fully vetted, crated trained, mostly house trained (he may need some transition time due to change in schedule or housing) and does well with all dogs. Introducing young happy treeing walker girl Lulu to the HERO Hound family! Lulu was found as a stray in rural AL, after nearly 60 days at a shelter, her time was almost up. Luckily experienced coonhound fosters in KY helped offered to give this girl her chance! Lulu is 1-2 years old (maybe younger), 46lbs, spayed and fully vaccinated. She needs to gain a little weight, but should do so quickly out of the stressful shelter environment. She is dog friendly and will be available for adoption as soon as we get to know her a little better and can match her with the right home!

"Ithaca" likes people, especially men, but is not good with other dogs, cats, or other animals due to strong prey instincts. Her owner passed away and I have been fostering her. Ithaca is unspayed. This dog is rather neurotic. Personally, I do not think she should be bred. She DOES walk on a leash quite well. Only seems semi-house broken, has excitement accidents. Needs training. Again, I would not have this dog near any other animals. She is at her happiest when sitting close and snuggling with a person. she is friendly around older children but would probably push over smaller kids with her enthusiasm. She also guards people from other animals.

Rose is a three year old Treeing Walker Coonhound and German Shepherd mix. She is playful, loving, and intelligent. She is easily trainable and is a sweet girl who would thrive in a home where she has time and space to play and explore. She would also make a great outdoor companion or hunting dog. Due to changes in life circumstances, we unfortunately do not have the time and space to allow her to live her best life, so we are seeking an individual or family who can give that to her.
