Story
Lucy loves everyone and thinks everyone loves her. She has never even so much as growled at another animal. Lucy is friendly with people and other pets. She lives with me and another adopted female dog, and an adopted cat. They all love each other and occasionally sleep together. I’ve had Lucy since she was a pup but I will be moving into a new home where there are no animals and none are wanted due to allergies. I am a widowed senior female and want to make sure Lucy finds a loving home. Lucy is well behaved and smart. She Loves long walks, especially if she can be off leash and near a body of water as she likes to swim. But she will settle for a walk in the neighborhood if that’s all she can get. She’s very friendly, healthy and happy.

Lady is being fostered in TX. HI! I am delighted that you are interested in knowing more about me! I am about 3 months old*. My absolute passions are EAT, MOVE and Cuddle! In fact, among my many super pawers is my super sense of smell, so I became highly excited when smelling delicious foods around me! My foster mamma and I are working hard to learn how to harness this super power! My second super power is my high level of energy and my strong curiosity, I guess that makes three super powers, isn’ it? If you don’t give me a job to do, I will find it on my own! So it is very important for me that you become my guiding light. Yet, I also want you to be soft and cuddle with me in quiet times, since I actively look for bonding, reassurance, and safety. I am good with kiddos, but I will prefer kiddos 6+ since I - for now - get excited and might scratch them by accident. Also, I highly benefit from tolerant and playful siblings who can help me balance when the puppyhood zoomies come! Did I tell you that I am already potty trained? YUP!!! I am proudly potty trained. Regarding my eyes, I have Microphthalmia which “is a congenital condition where one or both eyeballs are abnormally small” on my right eye. My foster momma is seeing a little cloudiness on my left eye*, so I am going to visit an eye specialist in mid August. However, I have not presented any issue navigating the house, jumping the stairs, or avoiding any obstacles in the backyard. I am sure my foster momma will update any relevant info after our appointment. Are you ready to love me? * By the time of this writing on July 2nd. BDRA has voted against the use of eletrical fencing effective immediately.

Roger Needs a New Home ❤️ It breaks our hearts, but we are looking for a loving new home for our 5-year-old Blue Tick Walker mix, Roger. Roger is a sweet, goofy boy who loves his people and enjoys snuggling up after a day of play. He is house trained, crate trained, and knows several basic commands including sit, down, and come. Roger does well with other dogs and children, but he is not good with cats. He absolutely loves being outside and would thrive in a home with a large, securely fenced yard where he can run, play, and show off his famous zoomies! As a Blue Tick Walker mix, Roger has strong instincts and could make a great hunting companion with additional training. He is an active dog who would do best with a family that can give him plenty of exercise, attention, and love. We are committed to finding Roger the right home where he can continue to be the happy, playful dog he is. Lucy needs more exercise than we can provide at our age and in our fenced yard. The ideal owner can let Lucy outside the door to run freely. She always finds her way home when she gets out. Her curled tail and long spine suggests she's also part sight hound like Basenji. We adopted Lucy from Monroe County shelter. She was rescued in the woods. There are indications that she was farel/abused/neglected. Her special needs are well worth managing for the joy and love she gives in return! Lucy sleeps a lot. She is very gentle and affectionate with people. She lives to chase squirrels and rabbits. She loves to run! When we brought home a puppy, they became inseparable and get along great! She is crated trained. We taught her some commands too. She loves being outdoors, even in the hot sun. She sometimes messes indoors. When bored, she chews things within reach. She has growled at exactly two dogs. She seemed afraid. She is an escape artist fro our fenced yard, even to unlatch the gate.
