PHOTO SHOOT! ALL EYES ON WHISKEY, PLEASE! Whiskey is a Treeing Walker Coonhound who is guessed to be around 2 years old and weighs about 60 pounds. He began his adoption journey in February when he came to us from a shelter in rural SWVA. Since then, Whiskey has grown so much healthier in body and spirit and we have learned alot about what he needs to be happy. Whiskey loves people. He loves to be close to you and yearns to fit into your lap. Whiskey is cratetrained and housetrained and has began working on indoor manners. Whiskey LOVES other dogs. He needs other dogs and his houndy-dog brain needs fenced in play time with other dogs to be happy. Whiskey is kind and gentle and social and needs playtime and learning to keep his mind and body in harmony! He's truly an amazing hound who deserves an amazing home. Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3 charitable rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, Va. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
