Turkish Angora kittens & cats in Toledo, Ohio

We adopted Toshi two years ago from the Toledo Humane Society. However, he had more difficulties than the shelter knew or disclosed. We quickly realized he had vision problems, and at our first vet visit we learned he had Progressive Retinal Atrophy and was completely or almost completely blind. He has trouble with stairs and refused to go down them at first, but after a month or two could slowly make his way down them. He has no problem moving around and jumping on and off beds/cat trees once he figures out where they are. He does meow a lot, I think to figure out where we are since he can’t see. We were also told he was good with other cats, however he will not leave our other two alone and even attacked and injured one of them. Because of this we’ve had to keep him separated in his own part of the house. I think he would do best as an only pet and with someone who is home a lot. He is around 6 years old, very sweet and good with people, very cuddly.

Oswald was given to us by my mother-in-law as a kitten about 13 years ago. He is one of the friendliest cats ever. He follows me around the house and loves to sit on my lap or next to me on a chair. I would like to say that is because I am special to him, but he extends his affection to every kind person that he meets. Despite being a senior cat, Oswald loves to play with a string, or some small object like a pen cap that he can bat across the floor. He used to like to go outside but prefers sitting in a window and looking outside these days. I would LOVE to keep Oswald, but I have recently retired and plan to do a lot of traveling. I don't want to leave him alone all the time. He will make a great companion for someone that enjoys an adoring cat! Sofie doesn't ask for much. She appreciates two things above all else. One- a cozy place to nap and two-personal space from other cats. Sofie is a quiet kitty who can often be found supervising the staff from the cat tree between the lobby desks. She will often make an appearance to do bag checks when donations and purses are brought in. Sofie can't wait to see her new nap zone!
