Story
* To be considered for a meet/adoption, please read the full biography to see whether they may be a good fit for your home, then submit an online application at www.dpsrescue.org.  Sometimes life changes in ways our pets have no say in. Tom and Miki came to DPS after their owner had to move out of the country and was unable to take them along. They have been together since they were kittens, but they do not have to be adopted together. We are happy to place them separately in the right homes, or they can stay together if someone has room in their heart for two. Tom is a 3-year-old Turkish Van mix who is basically a professional people person. He loves his humans and wants to be right where you are, preferably supervising whatever it is you’re doing. Curious, affectionate, and happiest when he’s beside his person, Tom is the kind of cat who wants to be part of the action rather than watching it from across the room. Miki is Tom’s 3-year-old calico sister, and her markings are absolutely one of a kind. The transition to a new home has been harder on her, so she’s taking her time adjusting. She’s been coming around beautifully in her foster home and has discovered that lounging in her cat tree is a pretty good way to spend the day. She is gentle and sweet with her humans and loves playing with toys. Miki also has a little hidden talent: she’s a mouser. Both cats are indoor cats, but when an unexpected mouse made its way into their former home, Miki apparently decided she had been hired for pest control. Problem solved. Tom and Miki would make wonderful companions, together or separately, for the right home. Tom is likely to be your shadow, while Miki may take a little more time to feel completely comfortable—but once she does, you’ll have a sweet, playful girl who knows how to enjoy the good life. Sometimes the hardest part of rescue is helping animals understand that a change in circumstances doesn’t mean they’ve lost their chance at a happy ending. We think Tom and Miki are both ready for theirs. All kittens have all been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350 for the pair or $200 per kitten.  August 30, 2026, 5:05 pm

Story
* To be considered for a meet/adoption, please read the full biography to see whether they may be a good fit for your home, then submit an online application at www.dpsrescue.org.    Warning: Your House Will Never Be the Same At just 13 weeks old, the Peninsula Litter has already mastered the art of being kittens. Some kittens spend their days quietly napping in a sunbeam. These are not those kittens. The Peninsula Litter believes every shoelace is a snake that must be defeated. Every cardboard box is a luxury condo. Every paper bag is an amusement park. They can turn a crumpled receipt into a 30-minute sporting event, race through the house at warp speed for absolutely no reason, then collapse in a tiny pile as if they have just completed an Olympic marathon. Five minutes later, they do it all again. If you've ever laughed while a kitten proudly carried a toy twice their size through the house at 2:00 a.m., found yourself applauding an impossible leap from the couch to the cat tree, or wondered why there was suddenly a kitten hanging halfway out of a laundry basket, you already understand the magic of this age. These four siblings—Mateo, Foster, Carlos, and Clara—are exactly what kittens should be: curious, fearless, playful, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining. They've been raised in loving foster homes where they've been well socialized from the very beginning. They've been exposed to dogs and other cats and would do wonderfully in a home with respectful children. They're confident little explorers who settle in quickly because people have always been part of their world. Whether you live in a downtown apartment, a cozy condo, or a house with room to roam, these kittens aren't looking for square footage. They're looking for someone who will laugh when they steal a sock, smile when they chase invisible 'monsters' across the living room, and happily make room for a warm little body curled up beside them at the end of the day. Picture coming home from work and being greeted by tiny paws racing to the door. Imagine making your morning coffee while a curious kitten supervises from the nearest chair. Picture movie nights with a purring kitten asleep in your lap, or lazy Sunday mornings when the biggest decision is whether to chase a toy mouse or curl up in a sunny window for a nap. Before long, you'll wonder how your home ever felt complete without them. Because kittens almost always do better with another playful feline companion, we'd especially love to see two of these siblings continue growing up together. Mateo and Foster are the very best of friends. They currently live together, play together, wrestle together, and often end the day curled up side by side. We'd absolutely love to see them continue their adventures in the same home. Carlos and Clara are another wonderful pair we'd love to see adopted together as they live together now. They complement each other beautifully and make a fantastic duo. These pairings are not requirements, and we'll always choose the home that is the best fit for each kitten. However, if we have two equally qualified applicants and one family is interested in adopting one of these pairs together, that family will receive priority. If you're looking for laughter, companionship, endless entertainment, and tiny best friends who will quickly become cherished members of your family, the Peninsula Litter is ready to fill your home with love, purrs, and just the right amount of kitten mischief. We can't wait for you to meet them. They have all been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350 for the pair or $200 per kitten. . August 30, 2026, 5:05 pm

Story
Sugar is a very affectionate and loving cat. She loves to purr and talk to you as you pet her and while she’s bumping her head against your hand or leg! She grew up with a small dog and never once have they fought but when it comes to other cats, she just prefers to not have them around. If you’re looking for a cat that will sit in your lap and constantly wants to be petted and affection, she’s the right one for you! To be on the safe side, recommended to go solo if there are other cats involved. When it comes to dogs, please have experience when it comes to introducing them!

Story
Lucy is a 10-year-old mixed breed calico lady, a gentle snugglebug who likes to lay alongside you or in your lap once she gets to know you. She was adopted from a shelter as a "teenager" (young but past kittenhood) and has been a sweet companion to an elderly couple. She can be a bit timid at first in a new situation, and likes to have a dark place to hide while she gets the lay of the land, but she has been the dominant cat in her two-cat household and won't take long to show her queenly colors again. Her companion, Little Bit (who is a larger but more timid cat) is also going up for adoption at the same time. They can be adopted together or separately.

Story
Meet Cali (Calico) and Emmy (Black cat), an inseparable pair of sweethearts looking for their next chapter. These two female kitties share an unbreakable bond as they have been together their entire lives. Cali and Emmy are 6 years old and are indoor cats. I adopted them when they were 8 weeks old when I adopted them from a foster home through the Bonita Animal Shelter. Cali and Emmy do enjoy time together. However, they also spend time independently. Both enjoy napping (sometimes on my lap) or lying in the sun by the patio door. Playing with string and chasing laser lights or being brushed. It’s difficult to have to rehome them since we have been together for so long. A calm environment may help them thrive. It is due to my advancing age and moving in with my son’s family, that I am looking for a loving home where they can stay together forever.
