ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Jasper and Sienna are Courtesy Post Only and are not Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs. SCDR is not  responsible for any ownership, behavior, health, and representations made by the owner with respect to these dogs. You must contact their owner,  Danielle at  leyvadaniela@gmail.com    for further information.   ******** Ideally, they would go to a home together as we believe they are siblings and are very bonded but we are considering separating. They would do best in a home where their humans aren't away for very long and we recommend crate training when you are away or at night.    Sienna is a Vizsla mix around 40 pounds, about 1 1/2 years old. She is a timid little girl but very cuddly and playful when she gets comfortable. She and her brother love to take long walks in the neighborhood and parks. She is very food driven and enjoys bully sticks and treats. Still learning commands. She is not so great on a leash and needs some general training. She can be a little growly when other dogs growl at her but loves all people and children. She tends to follow her brother's lead and leans on him for guidance.  Sienna is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.     Jasper is a Vizsla mix and weighs around 50 pounds, about 1 1/2 years old. Jasper is a little chunky, mischievous love bug. He seems more pittie/lab but loves people and children the same. He is more confident than Sienna. He is all boy and a bit clumsy but loves cuddles and attention. He is great on a leash and a little more house broken but would also benefit from general training. He can be protective of his sister. Jasper is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations.   For further information or to meet Sienna or Jasper, please contact, their owner Danielle at leyvadaniela@gmail.com  All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Story
In partnership with Kauai Animal Welfare Society, meet bonded pair Joe and Hannah! Hannah is about 6 years old and a vizsla mix and Joe is 9 and a pit/hound mix. They like other dogs as long as they aren't too pushy. These two best friends have been through so much together. They met at the KAWS sanctuary and immediately fell in love. Joe has helped Hannah become more confident and they enjoy going on hikes together as well as snuggling on the couch. Joe and Hannah are currently residing on Kauai and are hoping to find their forever home here in California. If you are interested in learning more about adopting them through our partnership with Kauai Animal Welfare Society, please contact us.

Story
Cricket was found as a stray in Imperial Valley California . The Calexico Animal Shelter is a high kill shelter, as they do not have a staff vet and cannot adopt out dogs that are not sterilized. Rescue only "pulls" or owners can get their dogs back . She was pregnant at intake but they still vaccinated her despite that fact. Unfortunately, vaccines can kill the puppies, but by golly these guys made it! There are 7 little pups that were born at the foster's house the night she arrived! ##1820568##

These pups are in Oceanside, California too!

Story
This is a courtesy listing, not a SPOT Rescue dog. For more information regarding Eloise, contact email or phone number below.. We are looking for a new home for our beloved Eloise, a seven (7) year old pure bred, beautiful German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP). Eloise is a top-notch snuggle buddy and adventure companion. She loves to run on the beach and on trails, play "hide the treat" games, and spend time relaxing right next to us wherever we are in the house. She is spayed and in good health with no major history of illness or physical complications, and is up to date on all vaccinations. Eloise has been through obedience training as a puppy and has recently been working on additional commands and tricks - she is very smart and enjoys the mental challenge of learning new things. While Eloise has been a member of our family since she was a puppy, unfortunately, Eloise does not get along well with young children. We have reached the point with an active toddler and upcoming cross-country move that we can no longer provide her the best doggy life she deserves. She will thrive in a new family without children or small dogs to live a happy GSP life. This is a hard decision for us and we want to find someone who will be blessed by Eloise's happy and warm presence and energy in their home. If you are interested, we would love to talk with you. Eloise is currently with us in North County San Diego (Cardiff), and we can travel with her to the right new home. Give us a call at 608-692-3660 or send us an email at djknudsen@gmail.com for more information about Eloise, including breeding and vet records..
