Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Amy! Amy had a rough start in life—she was born on November 30, 2024, on the streets of San Antonio, alongside her eight siblings. Her feral mother had been surviving on her own for quite some time, raising multiple litters on the streets. Thankfully, with the help of Amy and her siblings, we were able to gain her mother’s trust and bring them all to safety. Now, Amy is thriving! She is a playful, sweet, and loving puppy who adores people. She may be a little shy at first, but give her a few minutes, and she’ll be bouncing around, ready to play! As of February 26, 2025, she weighs 11.6 pounds, but she’s expected to grow to around 45 pounds. Amy is ready to find her forever home! Her adoption fee is $300, and she is available through A Doggie 4 You. If you're interested in adopting this special girl, apply today at www.adoggie4you.org. Could Amy be the missing piece of your family? This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $250. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 17, 2025, 2:43 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Athena! Athena's journey hasn't been easy. She came to us as a protective and standoffish mama dog, fiercely guarding her 9 puppies after living a life on the streets and having litter after litter. It took a lot of time and patience to gain her trust, but now that she's found it again, Athena is an incredibly sweet and gentle girl. She may take time to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she will love you forever. Athena has a calm demeanor and would thrive in a home where her new family can give her the time and patience she needs to feel safe and comfortable. As a Vizsla mix born around February 26, 2019, she’s fully grown and ready to be a loving companion. Athena is spayed, up to date on prevention, and fully vaccinated. She’s now ready to find her forever home where she can continue to blossom and show her true loving nature. Her adoption fee is $300, and she is available through A Doggie 4 You. If you're interested in giving Athena the loving home she deserves, apply today at www.adoggie4you.org. Could Athena be the missing piece of your family? PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.12/19/25 Sandy is one of our pups currently at Paws in Prison! While there, she’ll be with an inmate learning all the basics and maybe some tricks! When she graduates, she’ll have all the skills needed to pass the Canine Good Citizen test. She will graduate in about 6 weeks and we hope she’ll have an adopter waiting for her. Sandy is about 6 months old and weighs about 30 lbs. We believe she is a Vizsla mix and will probably be around 50-60 lbs once fully mature. She walks very well on leash, and is working on house training. She is medium energy level and gets along great with other dogs and would do very well with kids. She has a gentle, sweet spirit. Sandy is located in Arkansas. She can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays. To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 Message us or email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
Meet Goldy, who is now is thriving in her northern foster home. She really adores her people and loves snuggling up or just happily hanging out by your side.Goldy’s start in life was incredibly tough. She was abandoned in an empty house with three other dogs and left to fend for herself for weeks. When she gave birth there, rescuers patiently earned her trust and finally brought her and her puppies to safety. Her pups have all found loving homes, and Goldy—now spayed and thriving—has made incredible progress. She enjoys playing and roughhousing in a fenced yard, though she can still be protective of her food around other dogs.Because she’s still learning to feel fully safe, Goldie will need new or stressful situations introduced slowly and careful supervision around food around other dogs only, humans no problem. Goldie is ready for a loving home that understands her past and can give her the steady, happy future she deserves. She’s come so far—and she can’t wait to make someone’s home complete this holiday season!Name: GoldyBreed: Mixed Breed - perhaps Vizsla/Rhodesian RidgebackSex: FemaleAge: 3 years  (estimated)Weight: 57 lbs Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Positive. Story
Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/sGd4aGISzGI Peanut is a young handsome boy who would love to become your cuddle buddy. He has a stunning milk chocolate colored coat and a lean, sportive physique. He is great with other dogs, walks well on the leash and does well in the crate. He does well with cats in general but can chase if they are skittish so only cats who are well adjusted and used to being around dogs. He is a great boy who faced euthanasia along with his brother simply for being out of time. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative).
