    Sparkle and her three sisters were pulled from the Animal Protection League in Anderson, IN. Ni & Grenade are in a foster home in Indianapolis, Sparkle & her sister Twinkle are here at the rescue. These young girls are energetic, loving and so in need of their very own homes. Growing up at the shelter is just NOT how their story should go. We require   that you have a fenced in yard, not a "kennel" in the yard AND we do not approve underground fencing. Depending upon the dog some exceptions are made for those who live in apartments.   We also require that the adoptee will be a part of the family "living" within the home.     Who could possibly ignore that look?! Shimmer is possibly a Vizsula mix, d.o.b. 4/14/23. She is the sweetest girl, so soft, wants all the loving attention. Does great with other dogs, doesn't know a stranger. She attended an adoption event with us on 4/20/24 and did so great! This is Titan and he is a very very good dog, honestly the best dog I've ever had. It really pains me to put him up from rehoming but we found out he has allergies that require a special diets and/or constant meds that we just can't afford. He is very allergic to cats, which we had before we adopted him and didn't know of his condition until afterwards as he had no known medical info at the time. He's also allergic to yeast, corn, and dairy. The issues are he can't eat anything with his allergens which is difficult to maintain with small children. His nails are very long right now as he will not under any circumstances allow us to clip them and groomers will no longer take him. Other than shots and nail clippings though he is a very gentle giant, really good with our kids, and good with the cat as well. He is a one of a kind dog but requires and deserves a home that will be able to cater to his medical conditions properly and that just isn't our home.

Please read entire description. Baylee's adoption fee is $250. If interested, please visit her at Natalie's Second Chance in Lafayette. She has been surrendered there.    Baylee is a 7 year old, Basset Hound and Vizsla mix, and weighs in close to 60 pounds. She was originally from Texas and has been with her current owners since she was 7 months old. Baylee has a very sweet, snuggly personality and is friendly with most people once she has a chance to get to know them. . She can be described as a velcro dog and loves to be with her people. However, she is not a fan of infants, which is the reason she is needing to find a new home. She has been around younger children in the past, none the age of a newly mobile teeny human, though. This is heartbreaking for her owners who have worked very hard on solutions including a dog trainer. We believe Baylee could share a home with children over 10 with no issues. As she is getting older, we feel she won't want bothered by the unpredictableness of younger kids.  Baylee has shared a home with one cat in her life with no issues. She also has shared a home with another dog who has since passed. Baylee and the other dog had some disagreements and Baylee tended to resource guard her people, food, and toys with that dog at times. She seems to enjoy being an only dog, and that would be best for her in her next chapter. Baylee is solidly house trained and was crated in the past. She is trustworthy left in the home alone, but her Basset nose gets her in trouble at times when she may counter surf if given the opportunity and something is left out that she can reach with those little legs.  Baylee is currently on a $10 a month, low dose anxiety medication (Sertraline) that seems to help her in this transition with the baby and will help in a transition to a new home. Baylee knows many commands and is overall a very well behaved girl. She will do a little Basset Hound bay at some dogs she sees on her walks, but she can be redirected fairly easily. Baylee loves walks and does best with regular excerise. She will help you get your steps in! Thankfully, he is now safe in a Misty Eyes foster home while he waits for a loving forever family to call his own.Weighing about 65 pounds, Copper is believed to be a Red Border Collie. He gets along well with other dogs, especially those close to his size, and the companionship of a well-socialized canine friend may help him feel more comfortable. Copper is a somewhat anxious boy who can become distressed when there is too much activity in the home. He would do best in a quiet household without lots of visitors and noise, but with people who can provide the physical and mental stimulation a smart, active Border Collie needs. He loves riding in the car, although he has a very different opinion of moving vehicles—he wants to chase them! Busy roads and traffic noise are also unsettling for him, so a quiet neighborhood would be ideal. Because Copper can become cranky when stressed, he would not be a good match for a home with young children. However, for the right adult family, this handsome boy has so much potential!Copper is an intelligent fellow who would likely thrive with additional training.
