Harper A18676427 lb. spayed female, approx 2 years old -She walks slow and steady, taking her time to explore and take in her surroundings. She started out very timid, but with a little patience and encouragement, she began to discover her confidence. When I got down low to her level, she slowly army-crawled over, pawed at me, and let me know she was ready to start connecting.-Once we moved inside to a quieter space, she really began to blossom. Her tail relaxed, she explored the room, and she started approaching me for pets. She was still a little unsure, but every moment brought more progress. What really helped her come out of her shell was showing off how smart she is! She knows sit, paw, lay down, and “up,” and she takes treats so gently.-After showing off her impressive skills, she seemed to realize she could relax and enjoy herself. She plopped down beside me for belly rubs and even gave me a few sweet kisses. She initially needed a little time to feel comfortable with touch, but watching her go from flinching to leaning into affection was incredibly heartwarming.-She’s a sweet, smart girl who is discovering that people can be pretty wonderful. And I have a feeling that once she feels completely safe and confident, her playful, silly side is going to shine! ❤️-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

If you have the toys-he has the time! Watching how much joy he gains from tossing his plushy toys in the air is enough to make anyone smile. This pup loves his treats and sits nicely for them while taking them gently. Of course Cletus always makes time for cuddles with his adoring fans and he'll make and excellent snuggle pal for his new family.
