Story
Archie started as a foster in our pack of four. Over the first few months, he showed small signs of reactivity, especially to men and he has shown more reaction to men as time went on, even with training. He is a sweet dog when in the home and loves to cuddle. Recently, he has started to fight one of our larger dogs. There have been constant dog fights since moving into our new home. We already have to separate our smaller dog and cannot handle two reactive dogs. We can maintain the separation, but we just hope we can rehome Archie into a home more accommodating to him. He is a viszla beagle mix adopted from Chippewa County Animal Shelter. We can also provide a kennel. He has been through a 2 week board and train at Great Lakes Dog training and has stayed there for overnight boarding as well. He is a great pup and just needs someone who is experienced in reactivity and able to work with him.

Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee.
