Story
Ozzy joined The Foster Dog House from a rural NC shelter after being found as a stray and never reclaimed. It seems he may have been on the run for a bit as he's still got some weight to gain back. Typical for the breed, Ozzy rarely stops moving so he will need a home able to provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He thrives with long walks/hikes and brain games. He's a tall & strong German Shorthaired Pointer (~50lbs) who likely needs a 6ft fence to be safe. He lets you know where all the birds and squirrels are. He can be stubborn but is willing to learn. He does tire out and loves to nap ON his humans. He seems housebroken, walks well on a leash, and does sleep in his crate. Ozzy does okay with other dogs given ample time to be introduced slowly. He's dog neutral when walking or in a brewery setting but he does not care for dogs in his face therefore we're ideally looking for a home where he is the only dog. Ozzy is heartworm negative, UTD on vaccines, and neutered & microchipped. Story
My name is Robbie and I am puppy at heart and only 6 months old.  My pictures make me look big but ready I am not big at all. I only weigh 35 pounds at 6 months and they say I will be 65-70- pounds as an adult.  I LUV KIDS!   My heart leaps for joy when I See children that I can play with and love on.  I am a boy that loves to run fast and for a little bit of time too.  I need not only physical Exercise but also some fun games and training games to help my smart brain feel challenged too.  I need a fenced yard and someone To help share playtime and games with me sometimes.  I could use the company of another dog as well to help me with the physical Playtime outside and also to keep me active with socialization with other dogs.   We think that Robbie has some Pointer in him since He raises once leg and seems to point quite often during this outside playtime.  He is alert and very smart.   He walks pretty well on a leash and he is curious to learn more things about life.  He is not inside a lot so we would have to say that he could be housebroken fast if given some one on one Attention and training.  This boy is good with cats, dogs and adores children.  He never meets a stranger and he will needs a fenced yard To best live within safely and to run and play for long hours if the weather is good.  We want a wonderful dog savvy and loving family for Robbie.   He will be a 65 pounds boy when fully grown we think.   If you are interested in knowing more about Robbie please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   Mention where you live.  We transport from Nashville, TN where we are based and we travel to the Northeastern region as well with our pre-adopted dogs.   Thank you for considering this precious boy   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 30, 2024, 2:10 pm

Story
This 6-month-old Dalmatian puppy was surrendered by his previous family for doing completely normal puppy things—chewing furniture, jumping up, mouthing hands when overstimulated and generally getting into trouble when left to his own devices. None of this is unusual for a young dog, but for a Dalmatian, it’s just the beginning. Dalmatians are one of the more difficult breeds to raise well. They’re intense, energetic, extremely smart, and easily frustrated. They need structure, exercise, training, and patience—every single day. Miller will only be placed with someone who has owned a Dalmatian or a similarly demanding breed—think Belgian Malinois, working-line Huskies, Australian Cattle Dogs, or high-drive herding dogs like Border Collies. If you’ve never lived with a dog like that, this is not the one to start with. Miller will not be placed in a home with young children. A fenced yard isn't a requirement, because he will need a couple of 30+ minutes walks EVERY day as exercise but also continued socialization and training. He also needs the opportunity to RUN-- that's what Dalmatians were bred to do, and he'd love a running buddy, but if you're not a runner, a safe space for him to do some running on regular basis will be essential. Miller's foster mom reports that he's a typical 6 month old Dalmatian, very cuddly and attached to her quickly. He has SO MUCH energy. He LOVES to play with other dogs and has done well on outings around strangers. He's had a few accidents but with regular potty breaks, he does well. He's practicing crate training and spending time alone. He WILL be on your couch and in your bed, so if you're a no-pets-on-the-furniture type, skip this guy. Genetic testing will be done to determine Miller's dietary needs. It's likely that he'll need a special low-purine diet throughout his life, as is the case with most Dalmatians. He weighs 43lbs as of 4/8/25. His is going to be a lovely dog in the right hands. If you have experience and you're ready to take on a beautiful, whip-smart, high energy Dal, please fill out an application on our website. www.northmeckanimalrescue.org
