The person who initially took him in found him crouched under the awning of a building. Charles bonds quickly with humans and dogs in the home. At the time he came to me, he bonded with my now deceased pug who was very ill and 19 years old. Charles also bonded with another rescue I have named Buddy. Charles loves his walks, loves to do zoomies through my yard, and loves to watch television (he gets right up to the TV and watches intensely while I work at home). Charles loves being inside and would rather chill with you on the couch more than anything else. Charles is housebroken; in the 6 months he has been with me he has never had an accident. He has been fully vetted and is heartworm negative. Charles has received training with an animal behaviorist and knows all the basic commands. Charles is a gentle giant; he knows when to tone it down. He was very concerned about my pug when he started to get ill; he guarded and watched him every day to make sure he did not fall. I have some serious health issues which sometimes affect my mobility, and Charles is very cognizant of them; he walks slowly beside me when I am not feeling well. Charles has turned out to be an amazing, loving dog. My wish is for him to be in a home where he can play and live his best life with a loving person or family. I am willing to transport Charles to an out of state adopter. Sahara here, yes, still! I have been in foster care for a REALLY long time and despite being incredible, I still haven't been chosen! I LOVE a great game of Frisbee and a lap nap after, I am house trained and enjoy long walks, swimming on a warm day, and even do well in the car. Speaking of cars, if you need safety at the ATM, take me along! I am muzzle-trained, if needed, and would love to explore a new neighborhood! I will alert you any time someone is near my home and scare off the bad guys with my big barking skills. I'm super smart, too, and know lots of commands- sit, leave it, wait, get down, and will even wake up from dreamland with my favorite blankies to give my person a hug if you ask me! While I am not friendly with other animals, people are my favorite! My foster mom loves me lots but she and I would both love to see me in a FURever home. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Benton was born to a litter of 10 pups with a MinPin mix mom (see last picture), and he's a very sweet and loving guy.  We have no idea of his ancestry, but his looks could pass for part Vizsla so that's just our best guess. He is both house and crate trained, walks nicely on leash and rides quietly in the car. Benton gets along well with other animals in his foster home including dogs and cats, and we'd expect him to do well around kids (he's gentle but playful). He's quite good at entertaining himself with toys but loves attention from people. Benton's adoption fee of $100 includes his completed neuter surgery and he's up to date on his vaccinations, worming, flea treatment and heartworm prevention. Benton also comes with a lifetime microchip registration from HomeAgain.
