Story
7 months old Tanner is a sweet and gentle pup, who is learning to trust people everyday, thanks to their wonderful foster parents. He is currently being fostered in Houston but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home.
Tanner and his brother Wilson found themselves in a high kill shelter where they were surrendered by their previous owner. They were extremely bonded and ran the risk of being separated, so the shelter staff requested us to rescue them so that they could stay together. Tanner needed Wilson and shut down completely when we tried to separate them.
However, now, after being in a home full of other pets, the brothers are both able to stay separately, as their foster parents and foster siblings have boosted their confidence and allowed them to make choices on their own without dependence on the other.
Tanner is very easy going, quiet, respectful pup. He is not rambunctious or destructive. He loves to please his humans and listen to directions
Tanner is good with cats, dogs and kids. He currently lives with both dogs and cats and respects their spaces.
Tanner and Wilson are good boys who love spending time with each other, as well as with their people. Tanner will prefer a second dog in his new home.
He is crate trained, potty trained, leash trained and socialized. They would love to have a fully fenced yard to play with each other and get their exercise.
Tanner is about 7 months old, 40 lb, neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and kept on heartworm and flea preventative.

Yards, if any, MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.
Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them.
Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
