This small, young girl has been through more in her first year of life than any animal ever should. After she and her puppies were seen cruelly dumped in a river, a passerby alerted Animal Control. By the time help arrived, Kandy was clinging to a branch, fighting with everything she had to survive. Her puppies didn't make it…yet somehow, this brave little soul held on. In the days that followed, Kandy grieved deeply. But with gentle care, time, and the comfort of other dogs, her spirit began to heal. Today, she has blossomed into a tender, trusting sweetheart who still believes people can be kind. She adores other dogs, finds joy in companionship, and is slowly rediscovering what safety and love feel like. Kandy is ready for her forever home — one filled with love, patience, and devotion. She doesn’t ask for much…just a family who will treasure her, protect her, and make sure her past is forever behind her. If you have room in your heart and home for a dog who will love you with everything she’s got, Kandy is waiting. Apply today and let Kandy be loved the way she has always deserved. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
