This small, young girl has been through more in her first year of life than any animal ever should. After she and her puppies were seen cruelly dumped in a river, a passerby alerted Animal Control. By the time help arrived, Kandy was clinging to a branch, fighting with everything she had to survive. Her puppies didn't make it…yet somehow, this brave little soul held on.     In the days that followed, Kandy grieved deeply. But with gentle care, time, and the comfort of other dogs, her spirit began to heal. Today, she has blossomed into a tender, trusting sweetheart who still believes people can be kind. She adores other dogs, finds joy in companionship, and is slowly rediscovering what safety and love feel like. Kandy is ready for her forever home — one filled with love, patience, and devotion. She doesn’t ask for much…just a family who will treasure her, protect her, and make sure her past is forever behind her.     If you have room in your heart and home for a dog who will love you with everything she’s got, Kandy is waiting. Apply today and let Kandy be loved the way she has always deserved. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Chance! Chance is the perfect blend of sweet, playful, and delightfully goofy. With his moderate/high energy level, he’s always up for fun and games, but he’s just as happy to settle in for snuggles once he’s had his puppy zoomies. This little guy is already house trained and crate trained, which is a big win for such a young pup. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and kids, though he’s still a bit jumpy and excitable — typical puppy enthusiasm! Chance is currently working on his basic commands and is eager to learn with someone who can guide him as he grows. Chance would thrive in a home with a family who has the time, patience, and love to continue raising a growing puppy. He’ll do best with someone who is home often enough to give him the frequent care and attention puppies need. If you’re looking for a happy, affectionate puppy who will bring endless joy — Chance might be the perfect addition to your family! NOTE:   Dog Breed Information.  We do not utilize DNA testing for breed and mix determinations. The breed and mix identifications provided on the webpages for our dogs are based on information provided by shelter staff, previous dogs owners, our visual assessment of an animal's physical characteristics, demeanor, and behavioral traits. Story
Lower Fee! Franklin, one of our Hope dogs, was found all alone on the streets, trying to rent the space under someone’s house. The homeowners said it wasn’t for rent, so Franklin had to come to the shelter to see if his owners would come for him. Unfortunately, nobody did.  A 2-year-old, 50-pound Vizsla mix, he is eager to find a home with some great roomies and never have to worry about renting under a home again.  Seriously, Franklin is the best boy! He’s such a sweetheart and always wants to be around people. He’s still a little puppy-like, which just makes him even more adorable.  With some fun stuff to do and some good parents to guide him, Franklin will be so happy!  (Hope 10/4/25)  'You can learn more about our Hope Dog program here: https://www.crossingpathsanimalrescue.org/adopt/hope-dogs .' Lower Fees! Adoption: $150.00 Transport: $100.00        October 6, 2025, 12:33 pm
