Story
Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/sGd4aGISzGI Peanut is a young handsome boy who would love to become your cuddle buddy. He has a stunning milk chocolate colored coat and a lean, sportive physique. He is great with other dogs, walks well on the leash and does well in the crate. He does well with cats in general but can chase if they are skittish so only cats who are well adjusted and used to being around dogs. He is a great boy who faced euthanasia along with his brother simply for being out of time. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Story
Sunshine grin. Self-appointed fun coordinator. That’s our girl, Gracie Joy Gold Jamboree. She is the spark that turns the backyard into the fun zone and the living room into the love lounge. If there’s a game of chase happening, Gracie probably started it. If there isn’t one happening, it’s probably because one just wrapped up. Want to see this smiley social director in motion? Head to YouTube and search “Gracie | Joy Gold Jamboree” and then come right back to meet the girl behind the grin. Gracie thrives in a pack. In her foster home, she runs and plays with dogs of all sizes, happily roughhousing with the big crew and keeping the energy balanced. She’s the friendly “new dog greeter” who sizes everyone up, makes sure manners are intact, and then invites them into the fun. She genuinely wants everyone to get along and play well, and she wears that big, beautiful smile as a sign of her confident presence. Gracie is esmtimated to be 6 years old, she weigs 55 lbs, and is possibly a vizsla/lab mix, but of course, given she is a rescue we cannot guarantee age or breed. With other animals, not just dogs, Gracie shines. She did beautifully with cats, even offering a few polite licks, and she enjoys small dogs too. Because she loves to wrestle and play enthusiastically, we’d recommend dog friends closer to her size so everyone can keep up with her playful energy. She is both praise motivated and food motivated, which is a dream combo for training. Call her name mid-play and she’ll happily break away from the action for affection and encouragement. She is very well crate trained and settles nicely when it’s time to wind down. At home, she’s affectionate and leans into pets, especially when you let her come to you at her pace. She’ll scoot in for love, retreat for a beat, then circle back for more. It’s her little rhythm, and once you learn it, it feels like a sweet dance of trust. Gracie can be a little unsure in brand-new environments, especially when she’s figuring out new people. That’s very normal for a sensitive, thoughtful girl adjusting to new surroundings. What we’ve seen is that once she has a dog friend nearby and a little time to settle, her confidence grows and that radiant smile is right back where it belongs. For now, we’re recommending a home with a yard rather than apartment living, and adopters who are excited to continue building her leash confidence with patience and positivity. Beyond that, we can see her being a wonderful addition for a family with kids and just the same- adult life suits her well. Simply, we are so impressed with her there are very few homes we cannot imagine being better with her in them. Gracie Joyful Jamboree is looking for a home with playful energy, a steady canine sidekick, and humans who understand that trust is something you build, not rush. In return, she’ll give you laughter, loyalty, and a greet you at the door with the happiest face you’ve seen all day!
