Story
Roxas is 5 years old, adopted as a puppy from a local rescue. He a stoic yet gentle boy, who loves to roam and protect the outdoors, yet enjoys a nice nap on his couch! He is used to being able to roam openly in about 2 acres, with a doggy door - except at night time when we lock the house down for the evening. We are looking for a home with open space for him to roam. He is very used to small children, and follows them as they play as a family protector. He is exceptional at alarming us of wildlife, and he keeps the coyotes, bobcats and javelinas at bay, and his barks tell you everything he is trying to say. His roommate Xena is his right hand lady who helps keep everything out of the yard that is unwanted. He is used being fed Nutri Source 2x a day with homemade dog food for additional nutrition - and trained to sit before feedings. He is very independent, but will always accept pets and love anytime of day. We are hoping for an adoption that takes him along with his lovely Xena.

Dusty is a 3-year-old sweetheart with a gentle soul and a wag that never quits. Though he came to us as a shelter transfer, he’s quickly shown how much love he has to give and how ready he is for a fresh start. He enjoys the simple things—cozy naps, friendly faces, and a good sniff around the yard. Dusty is just waiting for someone to see how special he is and give him the forever home he deserves. If you are interested in meeting with Dusty, please contact our foster care department as he is currently being cared for in a loving foster home! Call or text 520-965-9067

Story
Chiquita (I also call her Nyla) is such a sweet soul! She loves to snuggle or curl up on your lap for a nap. But she`s also still a puppy and very curious. She has been doing well with being gated off in a bathroom during the day while I`m at work, and just needs to be let out once around lunch time to do her business. We`ve worked our way up to sleeping in a crate at night. She enjoys going on a daily walk and does nicely on a leash. I recommend using a harness with a front hook so it`s easier for her to feel which direction to go if she becomes disoriented. But this happens less once she learns the area and you. I will say, she likes to take her sweet time and smell the roses! In one short month, she`s become mostly potty trained. She`s also learned how to use a doggie door, but hasn`t quite worked up to using it independently to go out for her business. But she`s a smart cookie who I know she`ll get there. Chiquita is quiet as a mouse 95% of the time, but if she`s upset about something or has decided it`s time to come out of her enclosure, you will have the pleasure of being serenaded with the song of her people. She`s done amazing with her foster brother, who`s bigger than her. They love to play and wrestle and chase each other. (It helps if you have a little more open of a space to do this to reduce her chance of running into things. Once she learns where things are, she manages just fine.) She`s also been around smaller dogs and done well with them too. Since Chiquita is deaf and partially blind, she doesn`t pick up on the more subtle dog cues. But if the dog gives an appropriate little warning lunge, she gets the message. Of course, being a puppy, that doesn`t always means she`s ready to give up, so any dogs in the home will need to be able go tolerate and appropriately correct an ornery puppy. She`s been around older kids and loves them. She`s had younger kids pet her on walks and she does fine with that. Though with her being so young and growing quickly, and with her reduced awareness with hearing and vision, she would probably do best in a home without toddlers or babies.Chiquita loves most any toy, dog-safe chews, and dog puzzles. Also water. She`ll just walk right into a running shower if you let her! She does great with being bathed, and requires minimal grooming maintenance. She`s extremely friendly and easy-going (when her puppy curiosity isn`t taking over). She just wants to know she has a home and is
