How it started: Meet Colin, a 1yr old gentle sweet boy. As a puppy he got lost in the system, altered and vaxed, but never got to adoption events so he never has had the chance to be in a home with a family. He and his siblings were dropped off at the shelter and were set to be euthanized, but luckily he was saved. Now he’s ready to learn how to be a dog, how to get snuggles and how to be a loyal, loving companion to your family for life. More on Colin: Colin originally came from California so he is bi-coastal. He fits in any and everywhere. What a lovely boy Colin is in every sense of the word. He was a house dog and lost his home like so many others. He is house-trained and once followed his master around the house helping her in daily activities. That was his job that he did so willingly, so gently. Colin is very dog friendly and loves to go on nature walks. He is very easy on the leash. A perfect boy who enjoys all forms of training...what we call in the dog world - "a huge will-to-please" - a dog trainer's and a dog lover's delight! Give us a call today and find out more about this sweet boy that we all love so much. Ask about the Reunion Rescue holistic plan which comes with every dog and our foster-to-adopt program.

San Francisco, CA

Story
Blackjack: ~2 Years old male German Shorthaired Pointer/German Shepherd Mix 75 pounds Neutered Background: This young dog was found roaming the streets of Fairfield in early 2024. The finder notified the local animal control and made "found dog" postings but no one came to claim him. The finder decided to hold onto him during his stray hold period and contacted us for help finding him a new home. We shifted Blackjack to a Lab Rescue foster home in mid-2024. What Blackjack's Foster Says: Blackjack is a handsome ~2-year-old Lab-looking German Shepherd/German Shorthaired Pointer mix who’s 75 pounds of energy, affection, and fun. He may not be a Labrador Retriever, but Blackjack is one-of-a-kind! This resilient, affectionate, and fun-loving boy has all the makings of a devoted family member and is ready to be your next adventure buddy. With a little time and patience, Blackjack will reward you with endless love and companionship. Outdoor Adventurer: Blackjack loves to run, play, and explore. Whether it’s chasing squirrels, splashing in the kiddie pool, fetching rocks, or enjoying the fresh air, he’s happiest with plenty of room to stretch his legs. Big Personality: Equal parts goofy and sweet, Blackjack will keep you laughing with his antics and melt your heart with his loyalty. Morning belly rubs are his favorite way to start the day! Adventurer in Training: He is eager to go on walks, though he’s still refining his leash manners. With slow introductions, Blackjack enjoys meeting new people and dogs. Trips to Home Depot are a favorite—he loves exploring new sights and smells! Smart and Eager to Learn: This bright boy responds well to structure and consistency. He’s ready to shine with a committed owner who will guide him. What Blackjack's Rescue Rep Says: Blackjack is searching for an experienced dog owner who can offer him a loving home with the structure, patience, and training he needs to thrive. He’d do well in a suburban or rural setting with plenty of space to run, where he can fully enjoy outdoor adventures and live his best life. He’d also thrive with another dog or kids to play with, but he’s not a fit for first-time dog owners, a home with cats, or urban living. Despite his rough start, Blackjack has blossomed into a loving, loyal dog with so much to offer. He’s smart, eager to learn, and ready to be the heart of your home. If you’re ready to welcome an affectionate, energetic, and loyal companion into your life, Blackjack is waiting to meet you. If you think this amazing dog might be the one for you, reach out to learn more about him and arrange a meeting. Blackjack can’t wait to find his forever family! Medical: In great health. Current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. Located In: Placerville (totally worth the drive) If you want to adopt Blackjack, please contact Rescue Rep Dave at david.c.ely@sbcglobal.net.

Story
Meet Willow Wags, the tall drink of wag-ter! Willow Wags is a big dog sweetie with a tail that never takes a day off, her happy tail deserves its own fan club. One swish from Willow and your bad mood doesn’t stand a chance! She’s large and in charge… of giving love, that is. This gentle giant specializes in full-body tail wags, oversized cuddles, and the kind of sweet puppy eyes that should probably come with a warning label. Willow Wags is ready to branch out and plant herself right in your heart. If you’ve got room on your couch (and in your life) for a whole lot of happy, Willow is ready to wag her way home with you! Here's some notes from her foster: I love how chill and curious Willow is. She really just wants to lay on something comfy, sleep, stretch, and get pets from someone gentle with her. She doesn't need a ton of walk distance, but would be great for someone who likes to take a slow and patient stroll around the block or two. She loves to go to new places and smell and investigate them. And she is her cutest when she rolls around on her back on the grass happy as can be.
