Ube is a gentle and shy Weimaraner mix puppy who is leaning to trust the world more and more each day. She’s still a little nervous around humans, but she’s playful with dogs and would be a great fit for a home with another dog, though it’s not a requirement. She seems to be house-trained and is learning to walk on leash, so a yard would be helpful. (Again, not a requirement.) With dedication and patience, she’ll continue to blossom into a sweet companion. If you’d like to meet her, please fill out a questionnaire and a volunteer will contact you. How it started: Meet Colin, a 1yr old gentle sweet boy. As a puppy he got lost in the system, altered and vaxed, but never got to adoption events so he never has had the chance to be in a home with a family. He and his siblings were dropped off at the shelter and were set to be euthanized, but luckily he was saved. Now he’s ready to learn how to be a dog, how to get snuggles and how to be a loyal, loving companion to your family for life. More on Colin: Colin originally came from California so he is bi-coastal. He fits in any and everywhere. What a lovely boy Colin is in every sense of the word. He was a house dog and lost his home like so many others. He is house-trained and once followed his master around the house helping her in daily activities. That was his job that he did so willingly, so gently. Colin is very dog friendly and loves to go on nature walks. He is very easy on the leash. A perfect boy who enjoys all forms of training...what we call in the dog world - "a huge will-to-please" - a dog trainer's and a dog lover's delight! After a year of waiting and a few moves along the way, she may be a little shy at first — but give her a moment, and you’ll discover the sweetest, goofiest soul, calm, gentle, and overflowing with quiet love. Lately she's been way less scared at loud noises, traffic etc, and even learned how to use the dog door! She’s also wonderfully easy to live with — potty trained, great on leash, a champion car-ride companion, dog-friendly with pups of all sizes, and a very low barker. Her dream day? Curling up in a cozy bed and soaking in the peace. Holly would thrive in a relaxed home with older kids or adults. Lulu Belle came to us extremely shy, however less than a week in foster care with other dogs she came out of her shell, more so every day, step by step she chose her safety and comfort zone, next thing we knew she was curled up on a dog bed on the couch! Lulu will put herself in a crate and likely it will make transitioning into a new home easier having a crate as an option - even with the door open... She is getting more comfortable on leash and out in the (suburban) world, she rides fine in a car, settling down pretty well. She came from the rural Central Valley so loud urban environments or new things like the beach (highly unlikely she has seen the ocean!) should be put on hold until she has climatized well to new surroundings and people. And she needs security, a safe haven in the world. She will climb onto your lap for love. Once she feels comfortable she will follow you around the house and out to a yard and she has starting to play well with other dogs, and liking toys alot! She is a chow hound for good treats... but Lulu Belle is a NO GO for a home with cats.
