Meet Gizmo: The Twist-Walking Wonder Pup Born April 15, 2025- around 50LBS. Gizmo is an eight-month-old Weimaraner/Terrier mix with a heart of gold—and a story that’ll stay with you. He was born outside in the dirt and never saw the inside of a house or a soft bed until he was 5 months old and surrendered to a rescue in the North Georgia Mountains. He was the last of his litter to find a home, you see Gizmo’s hind legs were underdeveloped, and walking wasn’t always easy. Sometimes he looked like he was doing the twist—adorable!! He was taken in by fosters who nursed him back to be healthy and strong enough to start physical Therapy.  He did amazing with his PT and graduated to at home exercises and regular leash walks to encourage him to use a controlled gait and not hop.  He was a champ and determined to make his fosters proud!  So with the help of wonderful volunteers, within 24 hrs, Gizmo arrived in Florida!!!  It was amazing how everything fell perfectly into place.  Gizmo loves it here in Florida and would really like to find his forever home .  He loves all dogs and children.  He ignored the one cat he was around after one swat from the kitty.  He is housebroken and crate trained.  He gives the most incredible hugs and snuggles.  He is dewormed, up to date on all shots, on heartworm and flea protection.   Let’s help Gizmo find the forever home he’s been dreaming of, the one where every twist leads to joy, If you are interested in meeting Gizmo or finding out more please make an application. Hi, my name is Rocky! I was found as a stray laying on a random front porch exhausted and sore from road rash. A Good Samaritan found me and reached out to Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue to help me get the medical care I needed. I'm doing great now - a happy, healthy boy! I've had a pretty rough go of it in my past, but I'm a good boy who deserves a loving home. I know basic commands, I love the pool and playing fetch, and walk pretty well on leash. I'm best suited for a home with no other pets. I've done great with every human that I've met! I'm estimated at around 4 years old and last weighed in at 57 lbs. I'm currently being fostered by the great folks over at Arfington Pet Resort in Tamarac, Florida who fell in love with me when they met me a while back. He’s a loyal companion who just wants a cozy spot by your side and a family to call his own. Chandler does need to shed some extra pounds, but with regular walks, playtime, and a little portion control, he’ll be feeling better and healthier in no time. He’s more than ready to start this new chapter with someone who will help him along the way.
