Story
My name is Penny Lane. I am a beautiful girl! I am 55 lbs and 2 years old. I am a bit of a low rider. I am a mama of 7 beautiful pups. Three of those pups have found amazing homes and I know it won't be long before the others find their places. I am also in search of my home. I am a well-behaved eager to please lady. I live with other dogs, male and female, and have no problem sharing my space. I walk well on leash and I am an excellent car rider! I am housebroken and I am crate trained. I have also spent some time around a cat and no negative behavior came out of the interactions. I would love a person or family that would shower me with love and show me all the finer things in life. I have been fine with people that I have met and enjoyed my outings out in public. As is with my breed mix, I am incredibly intuitive and have a sensitive and soulful nature. I am medium energy - I need my bit of exercise but also happy to relax. I have not been around young kids extensively so we are thinking 8+ would be best for me. Here is a link to the application if you are interested in me! https://www.zivadogrescue.org/adoptable-dogs

Are you looking for a handsome and distinguished pup? Well, look no further than Stanley! Stanley is a well-trained 9-year-old pooch who weighs in at 55 pounds. He was found as a stray with an old eye injury that doesn't slow him down one bit. In addition to being extremely good looking, Stanley is also quite smart! He’s completed a board and train program, with lifetime follow-ups available to support his training. Stanley thrives with structure and will do best with an owner who can maintain that environment. An adventurous spirit, Stanley loves car rides and is a wonderful companion for outdoor activities, especially long hikes where he shines on a leash. He’s even gone camping before. If you’re looking for an adventure buddy, Stan is your man! Stanley gets along with other dogs, though he usually prefers females to males. He has also lived with cats before.  Stanley is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped, so he's ready to move in if you'll have him! If you're interested in meeting Stanley, visit EHRDOGS.ORG and submit an application. Don't forget to ask for STANLEY MARTIN STEELE! July 15, 2026, 4:53 am

Story
Meet Blaze — a big, beautiful boy with an even bigger heart. Blaze is an 88-pound Weimaraner–American Bulldog mix who was surrendered simply for being “too big.” At just over a year old, he’s still very much a youngster, and he’s carrying around a whole lot of love he hasn’t quite figured out how to share yet. Here at the shelter, Blaze is scared and unsure, and it’s clear the world hasn’t given him much guidance so far. But the moment he feels safe, he leans in with a sweetness that makes you want to wrap your arms around him and tell him everything’s going to be okay. He hasn’t been socialized with other dogs, so he’s hoping for a home where he can be your one and only while he learns about life at a gentler pace. Blaze may be hefty, but inside he’s just a sensitive soul looking for someone who will see past his size and notice the worried, hopeful pup underneath. With patience, kindness, and a steady routine, this boy is going to shine. If you’re ready to help a scared but wonderfully loving dog find his confidence—and his person—Blaze will be waiting with soft eyes and a heart full of potential. *Reminder* We are currently facilitating adoptions through appointment only. If you arrive at the shelter without an appointment to meet a dog, we may not be able to assist you. Please call the shelter (516-869-6311) during working hours (Mon. to Fri. 9AM-4PM; Sat. 10AM-4PM) for more information about this dog, the adoption process at the shelter, and to confirm availability. Please go to www.theshelterconnection.org for more information about and directions to the shelter.

If you would like a specific dog to be featured on our show, please email us at info@greatpyreneesrescuesociety.org.** Meet Humphry—a sweet little lovebug with the soul of a poet. As the biggest pup in his litter, you might assume he would be the rowdy kid in the bunch, but Humphry’s the one quietly taking it all in—like a little philosopher in fur. While his siblings bounce and tumble, Humphry is often found taking in the world with curious eyes, as if he’s making sure he doesn’t miss a single detail. Born in May 2025, Humphry is the kind of pup who’d rather give you a soft puppy kiss than wrestle for the spotlight. He’s a certified snuggler, happiest when he’s curled up in your lap and soaking in every hug and kiss you’re willing to give. Calm, sweet, and irresistibly cuddly, Humphry is proof that the biggest paws can belong to the softest soul. Whoever scoops up this little cutie is in for a lifetime of puppy smooches and loyal companionship. Humphry will need obedience training as he gets older and mature. There is a lot for a puppy to learn and like all small puppies, he will need someone who can be home with him a lot and provide him with love, patience and boundaries to help him become a loyal companion. He loves the companionship of other animals and requires another dog in the home to act as his mentor as he continues to understand the rules of his new world. ADOPT HERE: Complete an Adoption Application for your Pyr-fect new family companion at https://gprs.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6206. PUPPIES ARE ONLY PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOGS WHO ARE AT LEAST 50 POUNDS. Our requirements for puppy adoptions are simple and necessary. Our puppies are not livestock guardians, they are family pets that live inside of the family home. Puppies must be placed in homes with a youthful, adult resident dog of similar size. This gives the puppy a mentor and a solid foundation for becoming part of the family. Puppies are only adopted to homes with someone at home at least part of the day. If no one is home for 6-8 hours at a time, please do not apply. Preference is always given to those with Great Pyrenees experience. Applicants must have secure, visible fencing and a socialization plan in place. The fastest way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. Adoption is not first come, first served. GPRS and its fosters work diligently to find the right fit for each and every unique dog and puppy. Applicant’s personal pets must be current on vaccines & heartworm/flea prevention and be altered. If you’re looking for a pup with a sense of humor and a talent for turning ordinary moments into laugh-out-loud adventures, I’m your guy! I’m goofy, I’m bouncy, and I’ve got a knack for making a game out of just about any situation. Born in May 2025, my hobbies include launching sneak attacks on my sister Hilary (she’s my partner in crime), chasing toys like they owe me money, and perfecting my “I definitely wasn’t chewing that” face. But I’m not just a jokester with impeccable comedic genius —I’m also a sweet, loving pup and I’d be thrilled to find a home where my playful antics are appreciated and my jokes always get a treat for a punchline. Life’s too short to be serious—so if you have a sense of humor and a toy box that’s looking a little empty, I’m ready to move in and bring the party! Henry will need obedience training as he gets older and mature. There is a lot for a puppy to learn and like all small puppies, he will need someone who can be home with him a lot and provide him with love, patience and boundaries to help him become a loyal companion. I’m Hilary, a sweet little angel who doubles as a stealthy cookie-hunting secret agent. Beneath this adorable exterior lies a snack-seeking ninja on a mission to locate and liberate all the cookies stashed in the kitchen. I was born in May 2025, and I’m the most playful pup in my litter, always stirring up loads of fun with my brother Henry. Our favorite game? He runs, I chase, and then we both forget who’s "it" because we’re too busy being adorable. I’ve also perfected the art of the surprise smooch attack—one minute you're sipping your coffee, the next you're covered in sweet puppy kisses. I’m goofy, I’m affectionate, and just the right amount of spunky. I’m looking for a family who loves silliness, snuggles, and maybe doesn’t mind a little puppy espionage in the kitchen. If you’ve got room in your heart (and maybe a few extra treats in your pantry), I promise to be your best friend forever. Pinky paw swear. Hilary will need obedience training as she gets older and mature.
