Story
Malby is pure love! She absolutely loves people and is great with kids, we have three under three! She will be 5 years old in July, and came from a litter of 7 girls. She is extremely smart, and learns quickly. She knows how to "sit", "stay", "come", "roll over", and LOVES to play with her toys! We have had her since she was 2 months old, and she has never seen anything as a toy that we did not specifically give her to chew on, so that has been great! She is potty trained to go only outside. She loves to run outside, and it is amazing to watch how fast she can sprint around our yard. It has been a hard decision to look for a new home for her, but we are moving across the country, and unfortunately can't take her with us. We know she will bring so much joy to her new family, as we have never seen anything but joy in her! Please reach out to us if you have any questions, as we really want to find the perfect fit for our sweet girl.

Story
AJ is a 1 year old mixed breed weighing about 45 lbs. He is a rambunctious young boy with lots of energy. He was skin and bones when we got him, but has recovered nicely and has the beautiful shiny black/gray coat of a healthy dog. He has spent 3 weeks with a trainer and has learned lots of manners. He will need an alpha owner that will continue to work with him. He loves other dogs and did great with the trainer's pack. If he got too rough, he was easily corrected by the other dog. He's good with new people once he gets a chance to meet and sniff them. He will make someone a wonderful loving companion. For more information, contact Dorsey Patrick at dcpphoto@aol.com

Story
Holland is approximately 2 years old and weighs 40 lbs. Petfinder suggested that she is a mixed Weimaraner based upon her photos. She certainly is not as large as that breed, but she has the body type, the short fur, and the amber eyes that make her so attactive. Holland was found as a stray when she hopped into her foster moms car on the side of the road. She is energetic and likes to play but also loves a good cuddle. Holland gets along great with other dogs and children. She's a real sweetheart and the perfect size.

Story
Hi my name is Mia and I am looking for my forever home.  I am a 4 year old English Pointer/American Bulldog mix.  I was thrilled when I got to go somewhere and super excited when I realized that I was going to meet Santa.  I have been such a good girl this year as I have been patiently waiting for my forever family to find me.  Santa asked me what I wanted for Christmas.  I only want one thing.  All I want for Christmas is a forever family.  I truly am a great girl.  If you are an active couple or family looking for the perfect dog then you have found her in me.  I am super sweet, loving and very smart.  I am a lean 50 lbs and the ultimate athlete.  I love to walk and am great on a leash.  I also love to run and zoomies are my favorite.  MI would love a family that will take me for walks and for runs and who also has a big fenced in yard where I can perform my zoomies!  You will be amazed by my speed and agility.   I am also very smart.  I know sit, stay, lay and will go into my crate when told (though not her favorite place).  I am a very social dog and want to be with my people.  I am happy laying on the sofa next to you to watch a ball game and would love a pillow on your bed where I can lay my head.  I will try not to take up most of the room!!  I am the ultimate family dog and want to be involved in whatever is going on.  Trip to Home Depot and I am in the car.  Just going for a drive, I am ready for that too.  Going to the park or on a hike, I am ready and a great companion.  If you prefer a dog walker, I will be ready when they come.  I can spend a little while alone but would really prefer someone to be home.  I would also prefer to be an only dog.  I love my humans and want all the attention.  I has been spayed and am current on all my shots and microchipped.  To be considered for my forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Mia is actually in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.)May 26, 2023, 10:57 pm

Story
Meet Callie! Quick Facts: Breed: Catahoula/Bulldog mix. It's a WILD guess, she'd be worth the DNA test. Age: 12 years young! Size: 67#, but a bit on the hefty side (shhh, she can't read yet) Callie was surrendered to a shelter by her elderly owners who didn't feel like they were able to properly care for her any longer. This awesome girl just took heartworm treatment like a champ & is ready to get back out there on the prowl for her forever family! Callie is a very easygoing girl with a fantastic personality, once you get past her snoring + excessively loud breathing (Brainy, is that you?). Don't let her age deter you, she is a young girl at heart. She will trot around the backyard, with occasional moments of sprinting and zoomies. She will never say no to a good roll in the grass, and displays the tippy-taps of happy feet when it's time to come out of her crate. We would never tell her this, but she is a bit chonky, so action is being taken to make sure Callie is not overfed. If you have any other critters in the home, she will help herself to any leftover food and lives firmly by the "ask for forgiveness, not permission" rule with anything remotely edible. On her new found fitness journey, Callie has taken a liking to bell peppers of any color, and will politely ask that she get a prize of such after every potty break. She is a bit of a couch potato and loves to be with her humans and has no concept of personal space. She enjoys car rides and neighborhood walks. She takes her role of yard supervisor very seriously, and will hang out in the backyard while you pull all those pesky weeds. She does know basic commands: sit, come, place, and will follow you around the house waiting patiently for whatever sliver of attention you can spare. She loves dogs of all sizes and walks well on a leash with little to no pulling. Callie has never met a cat, but thoroughly enjoys the company of humans in all shapes and sizes. She is house and crate trained AND even kennels on command at bedtime - though she seems to do well outside of her crate unattended, and prefers you leave the crate door open, if possible. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Callie is $256 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!
