I'm a beautiful mix of Weimaraner/retriever/shepherd with a gorgeous gait & a gentle retriever's mouth. I had a rough start in life so when you first meet me, I am going to be shy. I might even hide under your couch for a few days, but once I get to know you, you'll discover that I am a clown! I love to throw toys in the air for myself to pounce upon. I am an expert at excavating the squeaker out of any plushy. I love other dogs and think that all puppies, including small kiddos are mine. Loves: snuggles, treats, walks, zoomies, digging small holes to help you with gardening projects Bad habits: Mom says I beg for food & paw at her too much for petting or food. Fears: loud banging noises Look deep into my amber eyes & tell me you don't love me already. Crate trained House broken Leash trained Great with children Great with other dogs (she is submissive) OK with cats with supervision

Mr. Nibs (bravest lost boy from Peter Pan)… He has come a long way from scared and starved puppy found in Dayton, OH and never claimed. He loves other dogs but is a bit much for them with his puppy energy, size and lack of social cues. He is still learning. Nibs can be 100% full on play/run mode or lazy want to snuggle sleep mode. Not much in-between for him yet. He has also been more difficult for me to train. We have sit/ lay down and come but I have been using hand signals and verbal cues. Some days I think Nibs is deaf, others, I think he is just ignoring me and hyper focused on the world around him. He loves to come over to his people for pets and love but loves to run in the yard as well. He still acts like he is starving so he eats from a slow feeder twice a day. He is crate trained and does not potty inside the house as long as he has out times after eating/drinking. He loves laying in the sun outside. He is not one to jump on you but will lean into you for love and hugs. If you squat down he will come running over for attention. Trying to work on leash manners. He has went from being pulled to get outside to loving walks but pulling me (I now use a slip lead high upon his head to keep from choking). We have tried the nose lead but he is not yet a fan. He will notice a blowing leaf, a falling maple seed, a cricket jumping and run after it, so definitely need a fence. He is so interested in the world around him. While walking he will lay down rolling in the grass, take a snooze or even just come up to you for pets. Please note that we are a TX based rescue that transports our dogs once they are adopted. ALL our dogs reside in foster homes in TX. Did you know that Holden's are known to be affectionate, practical, sensible and courageous by nature? We are also known to have a magnetic personality that draws people in close being both gentle and graceful. I've got most of that down except maybe the graceful part but I'm hoping to have that too once I grow into these paws!! LOL At 5 months I'm at that perfect age where I'm like a sponge, ready to soak up...everything! And with my gorgeous tiger striped coat we will have all the heads turning!! Did you also know that at 30ish lbs (50-55lbs fully grown) I will be a great size to share in all your adventures. I'd make a great jogging pawtner, hiking/camping cohort and/or a river excursion companion. You want to do it, I'd be game to try it out too! And the bestest part is when we're done having all our fun we get to have cuddle time but don't worry, even at fully grown I'll always make sure you have room to sit too!! As with your typical puppy, I'm playful and curious about everything. I'll need daily exercise and playtime, but with that in I should do great in town with a yard, out on a farm or anywhere in between. This lil sponge is ready for my very own home, could I possibly have YOU as my family?!!

Urgent! One of the puppies we adopted out last year needs a new home as the current owner can no longer keep him. Please SHARE to get this dog into a foster home or new adopted home. Meet Wafer! He is an 11 month old , 60 lb English pointer mix. He loves games. He loves to play ball and he’s learned to toss his toy tire in the air and catch it. He is very nice to dogs. He is a fast runner and loves the outdoors! He can sit and lay down, he’s a really fast learner. They have a fenced in backyard and he does well with that. Wafer is potty trained and does go straight to the kennel when you ask him. He is good with kids but being a younger dog can be a bit hyper for the little kids. He does like to try to jump on people for love but after being told no he will stop. We do have a cat, but she is old and stays hidden they have interacted a couple times.
