Story
POPPY is a beautiful, approx 4yr female, crate trained, house trained, fully vetted (vaccinated & spayed) and HW negative. SHE is about 65lbs, possibly a Weimaraner mix of lab, hound, terrier and part comedian….. with little/no shedding, and a very sensitive tummy and spirit. POPPY is extremely loyal, loving, highly intelligent, and thrives best with a routine which helps her feel safe and secure. Human companionship brings her great comfort, peace and joy. Consistency and routine is important so she feels safe, secure, and it helps her understand & know “what to do that is right and pleasing“ for her caretaker. She has great eye contact and a super sensitive spirit, learns quickly as she is definitely treat motivated. She does well with adults when introductions are calm and low key; she has had very little interaction with small children; she seems fine with young adults (15 and older). Poppy is a “highly sensitive dog” (see page2)....meaning she is very alert/aware of her companions and environment, and changes to either may cause a short span of anxiety or stress unless reassured "all is good". POPPY can be calm, relaxed while you watch TV or read or work. SHE LOVES her toys and benebones; she has multiple ones she plays with constantly throughout the day. SHE can be self entertaining w/her toys – and prefers not to share with other dogs. Outside she has strong prey drive, loves to protect the yard from squirrels or other critters that might invade “her” space; sometimes during outside playtime she will explode with a few zoomies. Poppy is always ready for a car ride, and will walk well on leash with her harness. Poppy is in foster home located in Miami County, OH. We typically adopt within a 120mile radius of Miami County, OH and recommend a fenced yard for our adoptable friends. Adoption application is online; visit the ADOPTME page at Dream4pets.org

Story
Nibs is "happy, joyful and debonair, possibly the bravest Lost Boy. He was named after Nibs, a Lost Boy from Peter Pan. You see our Nibs seems to be deaf and being a deaf, young puppy is scary but Nibs is very brave about it. He is a big derpy boy. He is awesome and comical! You will need to watch out for his big feet because he will step right on yours. Nibs will body lean for pets and his tail wags will show you how happy he is... so happy you will need to watch out because it will snap you like a whip. Nibs wants to be friends and loved by everyone! Cats, he can be curious but will run scared and knock down anyone is his way at the first sign of any aggression. Dogs, he loves them all but can be a bit much for them being deaf. He doesn't hear their verbal cues but has learned quickly how to read their body language. Kids, while he does well with everyone, toddlers can be unpredictable and with Nibs being deaf a small child can be knockdown out of fear when he is startled but he adapts quickly and easily. Nibs does not jump on or lick you but he loves belly rubs. While he loves to play and can be a bulldozer, he enjoys relaxing and taking naps a lot. He likes all toys and fetches but either wants to play tug of war upon return or hides it. Give Nibs a hard chew like a nylabone or Himalayan cheese and he redirects very well with them. Nibs is super smart as well as a quick learner and has learned hand signs. He knows how to go (wherever someone points to: crate, room, outside, ETC), come (to the person signing), sit, lay down and he is doing well with No (when he needs to calm from play inside or when he wants to hump). Nibs gets overly excited and does try to hump things, mainly blankets or one of the other dogs. He redirects easily with a tap and the sign for no. It has actually become A-LOT more rare these days. He is overall the sweetest, most chill, energy filled to lazy snuggle boy. He loves being around his people but will dart back with new introductions. He likes to sniff and get chin pets but not reaching over his head. He learns so much through smell and sight because he cannot hear. Once he says "hello you will find him either wanting to playful bow and get you to play with him or lean in for pets and love while taking a seat at your feet.
