Rescued as a stray by a kind stranger, Scruffy is a sociable dog who loves the socializing outdoors with the rest of his bunk mates. He always seems to have a serious look on his face and is a foodie. He is quiet and unimposing. For additional information, call Lydia at 714-357-8405. Nevertheless, only one applicant will be invited to meet a dog at a mutually agreeable appointment day, time & place. Usually Petsmart Yorba Linda or our Santa Ana location near South Coast Plaza. All adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, full sets of core vaccinations (rabies and 1 set of distemper/parvo for adults, 4 for puppies) and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc.

NOVA! (Male) Nova is a sweet dude who is looking for his forever home. He is a larger Terrier mix (probably about 25 pounds) so still considered a small to medium sized dog. His foster says this about him: At about a year and a half old and 25-30 lbs he is FULL of energy at and thinks he’s a lap dog but will take up 3/4 of a recliner. Nova thrives on attention. A good praise and a treat go a long way with him. Mostly house trained, but it is Important that he goes out IMMEDIATELY in the morning or it sets a precedent for the rest of the day. He wants to please you and loves the praise he gets when he does something good or cute. He would do well with kids No experience with cats here. Would want to sleep on a bed with someone at night but currently is crated since I have other smaller ones that sleep with me. He does have some separation anxiety sometimes but is fine when he hears the car start. I do crate him when I leave “just in case”. -------------------- Nova did really well at our adoption event, meeting new people and hanging out with a lot of commotion going on. He will be a great addition for a family or person! Currently in need of new foster in So Cal or can be adopted anywhere in California. Adoption fee of $300 includes spay/neuter, core vaccines (DAPP and rabies), microchip, access to training videos. When people approached, he used to retreat into the corner out of fear. To prevent his worry and anxiety from getting worse, he was rescued. * With People: Is wary of people and used to nip defensively, but this has improved a lot lately. His behavior is not aggressive, and he is taking training how to overcome it in school. With constant contact training, he's even accepted treats placed in the hands of people whom he knows! * With Dogs: Usually tends to lie down in a corner but occasionally initiates to play by approaching first and playing tag. May find overly energetic dogs a bit overwhelming, though. * Separation Anxiety: Not confirmed as he resides at our center. * Potty Training: Not confirmed as he goes for outdoor potty at our center. * Walks: Goes for walks on the leash well. Sometimes flinches or freezes in surprise during walks, but generally follows well. 💌Special Notes💌 * Nips defensively, but he's improving with continued engagement with Adogs staff! Kumi is a beautiful Westie/Poodle mix, about 9 years old and weighs about 16 lbs. Her previous owners dumped her at a high kill shelter with major medical issues. The shelter took care of a mass removal that she had, along with a hernia. She still needs correction of her cherry eye and dental work which we are going to take care of for her. She is doing very well at her Foster home, she loves to cuddle and go on walks, follows her Foster Mom everywhere and likes her belly rubbed. She absolutely LOVES car rides, gets along with other dogs but prefers to be with her humans. Kumi is up to date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped.
