Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Huey is a happy, goofy, puppy&#226&#128&#145hearted fluffball who brings energy and laughter everywhere he goes. Though his exact age is unknown, he’s likely around 1–1.5 years old—and he absolutely acts like it. Once he settled into his foster home, his playful, silly personality came shining through. Huey LOVES toys. All of them. All at once. If it squeaks, bounces, or can be tossed in the air, he’s thrilled. When he’s not zooming around with a toy, he’s working hard on a bones, bully stick, or antler—chewing is one of his favorite hobbies. Because he’s young and curious, he’ll try to chew anything if he’s bored, but with plenty of appropriate chew options, he hasn’t damaged anything in his foster home. He enjoys long walks and handles Minnesota cold like a champ thanks to his thick coat. However, he’s a strong puller and becomes laser&#226&#128&#145focused when he sees another dog, squirrel, or rabbit. He’ll need consistent obedience training to help him learn leash manners and impulse control. He’s smart and eager, so with structure, he’ll make great progress. Huey has done well playing with dogs at the dog park, but a doggy playdate in the home was a bit too intense—he’s still learning appropriate dog&#226&#128&#145to&#226&#128&#145dog social skills and may not have had much prior experience. With humans, he can be mouthy during play, so he may be better suited to a home without very young children. He’s crate trained and can stay in his kennel for up to six hours. He may whine at first but settles down. He’s fully potty trained and even bell trained to go outside. Huey is a lovable goofball with a big heart. He’s affectionate, snuggly, and happiest when his humans get down on the floor to cuddle with him—he’s not a couch or dog&#226&#128&#145bed kind of guy. He prefers the floor and loves when his people join him there. He’ll thrive in a home with: • A fenced yard is preferred, or a commitment to walks —he loves the freedom and needs time and space to run • People who enjoy an active, playful dog • Someone committed to training and helping him mature • Older or considerate kids, if any • Plenty of toys and chew items Huey is joyful, outgoing, and full of personality. With continued training, socialization, and lots of love, he’ll grow into an incredible companion. Whoever adopts him is in for a whole lot of fun. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. She does experience separation anxiety, so she’ll need a patient, committed person to help her build confidence and feel secure. History and A note from the foster: Mellie is an adorable and spritely pup, who is looking for a forever home after a rough start to life in the commercial breeding world. When Mellie first arrived, she was shut down and frightened of everything as the whole world was new to her. However, her progress has been immense! Her doggy nieces have shown her how to be a dog living the good life and she has gained confidence and has curiosity about everything around her. She loves a snuffle mat and likes a boiled egg with dinner! Mellie takes an every day anxiety medication and her backyard time with puppy pals has been instrumental in helping her uncover the playful, silly Wheaten girl that she is inside! In order for Mellie to thrive in her new home, she will need a confident adult companion dog. While Mellie has built some trust with humans on her own, she is at her happiest and most open when she has another dog to lend her confidence and to be her guide. Mellie will also need a backyard with a physical fence. Since introducing her to her first ever backyard space, Mellie has blossomed as a dog! She loves to run, romp in garden beds, roll on the grass, and splash around in any water available! A backyard space is very important for letting Mellie be her best self. Mellie is a good pup and rarely has accidents inside as long as a regular potty routine is established. Because of her difficult start, she has not used a crate in her foster home. She has been a peaceful sleeper and not destructive when left alone. She would likely do best in a home with adults or a family with older children who can understand her boundaries and her need to build trust with her people. Mellie is a sweet, wonderful Wheaten girl, and would make a fabulous addition to a family looking for a second pup! UPDATE: Mellie’s forever home will need a permanent physical fence space. Mellie loves to play outside but she is a flight risk, so a physical fence is necessary for her to play safely.

History: Quinn is a beautiful girl who needed a second chance at a good life. She is beyond sweet and working hard with the help of her foster family on her trust and confidence. She is officially ready to start her journey in finding her forever home! A Note from the Foster: Hi! My name is Quinn, and I’m almost 3 years old. These days, my foster family calls me “pretty girl.” I had a rough start in life as part of a breeder release, but over the past seven months I’ve been fortunate to spend time in two wonderful foster homes. I arrived as a very scared girl, but I’ve made incredible progress and grown so much. While sudden movements and unexpected noises can still startle me, I’m getting braver every day. I currently live with an 11-year-old Wheaten Terrier who’s helping show me the ropes. I’m still working on having fewer accidents in my crate and resisting the urge to chew on things I shouldn’t—but I’m eager to learn and improve more each day! I have a moderate energy level and enjoy a nice balance of walks and relaxing—whether that’s napping in my crate or cuddling on the couch. I love playing with toys, spending time with other dogs, and being outside. In fact, being outdoors is one of my favorite things! I’m a very sweet girl and rarely bark. My ideal home would include a fenced-in yard, another dog to play with, and a calm, low-stress environment. I would do best with older children, as younger kids can be a bit unpredictable for me. I can be with littles for a short period of time. I would thrive in a home where my human is home most of the time. I usually need to go potty about every four hours, and I can get a little sad when my people leave. I am sad to leave my current foster family but excited to join my furever family!
