Can only be adopted in Texas Looking for a trusty sidekick to go on adventures with? A shaggy dog who'll never leave your side and will cuddle up with you to get through the long night? Well, look no further than Maya! This sandy, shaggy, terrier will sweep you off your feet and will make everyday feel like an adventure! Her honey eyes will always be sparkling to see you wherever you go and whenever you get back home! Maya is going to thrive as an only dog and would do best in a home that does not have a lot of doggie traffic coming and going. She likes her quiet life and she loves her person. Like most diva's she is not one to share her toys, people or space! Maya is the type of girl who would love the simply country lifestyle. Sitting on the porch with her person, afternoon strolls on the backyard. Really the quiet, relaxed, laidback kinda gal. Maya is a medium-sized dog (20-59#). Local adoption fee $200 (in TX)

These pups are in Minneapolis, Minnesota too!

Weight: 25.2 lbs Food Fed: Solid Gold Requires a fenced yard:  No Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hi I'm Coke!  I'm a sweet scruffy girl who is just cute as can be!  I'm a calm girl who is usually pretty quiet.  I'm a bit shy with people, but I love other dogs that are nice to me and enjoy running and playing with them outside.  I wag my tail at my foster mama and I do like when she pets me.  She holds me in her arms and I sit there looking around and relax into her arms and I'll give her a gentle kiss to show her I love her.  I enjoy chewing on bones.  I'm kennel trained and working on leash and potty training.  My personality is coming out more each day and I'm hoping you will join me on my journey to being the best girl I can be and that I can be your little girl forever! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. HI I’m Molly!  I’m an adorable tiny little girl who is just as happy as can be!  I have the cutest smile and when I’m really happy my whole body wiggles like crazy.  If I don’t have the body wiggles then I have the cutest nub wag to show you I want to be friends.  I’m a little nervous with people.  I want so bad to be your friend, but I will stay just a tad out of reach.  I get up my courage though if you bend down to me and I give happy little kisses to your hands and then dance around you til I come back for another round of kisses.   I do like pets though and will give you my belly for belly rubs.  Each day my foster mama holds me and I shake for a few minutes, but then I settle in.  I know that we are working on trust and confidence and I’m getting it pretty quickly!  I really enjoy the presence of another dog and they give me a lot of confidence so I do ask that my home has one.  I’ll be following them and you around the home because I’m curious about things.  If you work from home I make a great companion because I’m usually pretty quiet and will snuggle up with the dog in your home and nap.  I’ve discovered that tv is a pretty interesting thing too and my foster mama catches me watching it pretty often.  I’m working hard on kennel and potty training.  I’m a little too scared to walk on leash yet so I haven’t practiced it much, which I another reason I need a fenced in yard right now.  I haven’t met any kids or kitties yet.  I can say that kitties are bigger than I am so I might be just fine with them.  I think little kids might be a little too loud and overwhelming for me so older respectful kids would be a better fit.  If you have love to give and a little patience then I think we would be great together!  I promise you won’t be disappointed! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to the Eco Expo at Eden Prairie Center (8251 Flying Cloud Dr, Eden Prairie, MN 55344) for an Adoption Event on Saturday April 20th 12:00-1:45 pm . Find me on the lower level near the center of the mall. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.   Hi, I'm Harley, a gentle little soul looking for a chill home, and a family to love me! I am timid, but I'm gaining confidence in my foster home. I have settled into their home, and I like hanging out with them - maybe because, as seniors, they know how to “chill.” If my forever home contains another dog, that would be great – I love when my current fosters' granddog comes to visit, and I learn a lot of good habits while he is here. I have learned that a leash means I get to go outside, and I love that! Walking around my neighborhood is one of my favorite things to do, and I like long walks. I can walk at a pretty good clip, but also like to stop and smell the roses along the way, too. I love to eat, cuddle next to you on the couch for hours, explore new surroundings, and sleep. I am a champion sleeper! When I go to bed at night, in my kennel, I sleep like a log. I may lack teeth, but I eat my kibble with no problem. I'm not into toys or treats, but my foster dad is determined that I get a treat every time I “do my stuff” outside, and I'm beginning to like that. My foster parents say I am the sweetest dog they have ever known, and, to be honest, I think I am, too! I know I'm a bit timid, but I really do want to get to know you, and I love cuddles and pets - it just takes a bit of coaxing. I like to keep my kennel clean, so they take me outside right away in the morning, and then again, an hour or two after I eat. I am making huge strides in the potty training department, and it helps that I prefer a clean, dry kennel. When not on the couch with my foster dad, I choose my kennel for naps. If there was a gold medal at napping, it would be awarded to me! I was pretty shaggy when I arrived, but I did great at my first grooming appointment. My groomer gave me a shorter "do" because of all the matted hair I had, but I'm pretty cute when fluffy, too! I know I'm a handsome fellow, and don't mind when my foster dad spruces me up a bit with a nice, gentle brushing. With love and gentleness, I will settle nicely into my forever home, as I have in my foster home. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.
