Story
Can only be adopted in Texas Looking for a trusty sidekick to go on adventures with? A shaggy dog who'll never leave your side and will cuddle up with you to get through the long night? Well, look no further than Maya! This sandy, shaggy, terrier will sweep you off your feet and will make everyday feel like an adventure! Her honey eyes will always be sparkling to see you wherever you go and whenever you get back home! Maya is going to thrive as an only dog and would do best in a home that does not have a lot of doggie traffic coming and going. She likes her quiet life and she loves her person. Like most diva's she is not one to share her toys, people or space! Maya is the type of girl who would love the simply country lifestyle. Sitting on the porch with her person, afternoon strolls on the backyard. Really the quiet, relaxed, laidback kinda gal. Maya is a medium-sized dog (20-59#). Local adoption fee $200 (in TX)

Update on Sport:  Sport is on yet another antibiotic to try to get rid of a stubborn UTI.   Sport is with a therapeutic foster but we're looking to get him into a more permanent situation.   Sport had to undergo 3 operations to remove bladder stones, may of which were embedded in his bladder lining and urethra.  He is recovering well but still fightin a bladder & urinary tract infection and his kidneys are still affected but he is getting beter every day!  When he came in, Sport weighed 45 lbs.  At his last check up he is 33lbs and can go uo a whole flight of stairs!  He still has a ways to go with his recovery and weight loss, but we hope he will be ready for his forever family in July. Adopter or Temporary Therapeutic Foster Needed for Sport! Sport's owner suffers from dementia. His son intervened on behalf of Sport when he realized the severity of the situation. Sport is morbidly obese. He can barely walk. He has been eating a can of SPAM a day for an undermined amount of time along with dog treats. He needs a foster who can monitor his diet and get him on an exercise schedule. He is UTD on Vaccines, house trained and neutered. But he has severe mobility issues. We need someone who can devote at least 2 months into getting him to a place where he can walk and generally move about. CAN YOU HELP SPORT!!! Story
Some dogs just need a second chance to show the world who they really are. Barry is one of them. This handsome dude has a scruffy coat, a sweet face, and a big heart. When Barry first arrived at WAG, he needed some extra care and attention. With good nutrition, medical treatment, and lots of kindness, his health has improved, and each day he grows happier, stronger, and more confident. Barry is currently enjoying life in a foster home, where his personality has truly blossomed. His foster family says he's playful, affectionate, and completely housebroken. He's a champion tail-wagger who loves being with his people, settles nicely in his crate, and is becoming more comfortable when left on his own. He's also easy to bathe and sheds very little—qualities that make him an easy companion to welcome into your home. Now all Barry needs is a family to call his own. He's ready to leave his past behind and spend his future surrounded by the love, security, and companionship every dog deserves. In return, he'll reward you with loyal friendship, joyful greetings, and plenty of happy tail wags. To schedule a no-obligation meet and greet with Barry, visit wimberleywagrescue.org and complete an application. Barry has come so far, and his happiest days are still ahead. We can't wait for the family who will help him write the next chapter of his story.

Story
Deep in a Meadow under the willow is a bed of grass with a small pup sleeping soft and sound. Meet our sweetest rescue, Meadow, a Schnauzer mix with quite the backstory. While we don’t know her full story, her coat suggests her previous living conditions were not fit for such a sweet girl. Now that her coat is mended, she is the absolute star of the show. Meadow is settling into her foster home beautifully. Her foster mom shares, "She’s so sweet and getting more comfortable. She figured out the doggy door and loves her treats! She went on a walk with us and did so good— it seems she knows the leash all too well." In our care, Meadow has been good in her crate, very friendly with others, and overall a happy, happy dog. She enjoys her morning ‘sniffs’ and is just a girl looking for someone who will treat her right. If that could be you, submit your application today, and show Meadow the way home!
