Story
Meet June! She is a very active and affectionate dog, she loves to go for a walk on a leash and discover new places, she is usually invaded when she meets a new dog, and she jumps on people with tremendous joy, she is very sociable and obedient, but when she plays she usually behaves like puppy, he loves balls, cloth toys, rope toys, and he really likes to play with puppies. She was abandoned the day she had her 12 puppies, the "owner" went to throw the babies on the hill while June desperately looked for them where she thought her home was, the person who asked us for support to give her shelter and care told us that She went for her puppies, and they were in a box, under the sun, and there were 4 dead puppies in a bag, together with her 8 brothers, the girl took them down to her house so that June was with them, but when we arrived by they only had 5 puppies alive since he brought them back up the hill. June is currently healthy, happy, and chubby. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). MEET ME IN SAN DIEGO OR MISSION VIEJO! She is a calm, sweet natured and affectionate dog who will follow you around the house and yet not trip you up. She is food motivated. She learned the doggie door in five minutes. She quickly learned to open the slider too! Loves to play with toys! Puppy energy but more than willing to sit beside her human. Not dog or cat reactive. While she is crate trained, she is also a good candidate for a doggie bed. As with most any dog, Dory will benefit greatly from remembering the 3-3-3 Rule which our group is happy to talk with you about. Apply directly at https://www.karmicrescue.org

ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Introducing Stripes!  Stripes is a one year old, 35 pound mix which we believe to be pug and whippet.  Cool, calm, and collected, little Stripes is a silly girl with a heart of gold. Never missing an opportunity to cuddle up in bed, the couch, or nestle up to her humans and lay her head on your shoulder, she lives for the love.  Cat-like in demeanor, she would rather enjoy a good indoor play with a squeak toy or a bone as opposed to going on long walks. In fact, her perfect afternoon is a short 15 minute jaunt around the neighborhood following by a little scrimmage with a similarly sized companion and perhaps some quick zoomies through a wet, grassy field. She’s great at keeping herself occupied with toys, her harness, or a remote if you aren't paying attention. A little shy around large dogs, she warms up quickly when she realizes they are not a threat. She’s currently working on her cat manners but is showing lots of promise and no longer chases them. She is spayed and up to date on vaccinations.  Her adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  November 5, 2025, 12:51 pm

Story
Meet Pirulin! This Whippet and Hound mix is expected to be medium-sized when fully grown&#194&#151but don't let that fool you, he's got a big personality and an even bigger heart. Pirulin is a bit of a shy guy at first but warms up, especially if there are treats and another dog for him to make friends with. Once he's comfortable, he is a bundle of energy who lives for playtime&#194&#151whether it's chasing toys, romping with his foster dog siblings, or zooming around the yard, he's always ready for fun. He's also incredibly sweet and affectionate with his known people, always happy to snuggle up after a good play session. Pirulin is ok with kids he's met out and about but doesn't live with any kids right now and he's not a go-to-everywhere kind of guy but he's made a lot of progress in his foster home with socialization and training. He is great with other dogs and would do well in a home a dog sibling to play and learn from. He is eager to please and has mastered house training and sleeping in his crate. Pirulin is a joyful companion who will bring nonstop smiles to his future forever family! Pirulin is looking for a family that understands the time, patience, and energy needed to raise a young pup. We require all puppy adopters to provide training that includes: house training, basic training, leash training, and socialization. Additionally, this cutie is going to need proper exercise, mental stimulation, and your attention and love to grow up to be the best companion. We do not allow our dogs or puppies to sleep or live outside; they must be incorporated into your family and be made a priority in your life. In return, you will have the most loving and loyal family member you could ask for. If you think you are ready to add to your family by adopting Pirulin, then fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website today! We recommend completing the questionnaire and connecting with an adoption coach before looking for a dog or puppy you'd like to adopt. If you're already approved to adopt or if you've adopted from Labs and More before, connect with your adoption coach for the next steps. Your interest in adopting a rescued dog or puppy from Labs and More Rescue is appreciated! Please find our adoption information at www.labsandmore.org. Your adoption donation provides funding for Labs and More, a nonprofit organization which is supported solely by Volunteers and funded by donations. Good news is your adoption donation can be considered tax deductible. So much care is provided to your new dog prior to the adoption, including: spay and neuter, microchip, veterinarian visit(s), vaccinations, and other medical care as needed. Many of the dogs we rescue require extensive surgeries and care prior to adoption. Please understand we are unable to predict future behavior or medical needs of your adopted dog. We provide no guarantees regarding behavior, breed, or age of the dogs. Thank you for rescuing. Thank you for joining the Adoption Family with Labs and More Rescue. We are here to help you find a furry companion. You will find our quick and easy adoption application at www.labsandmore.org and click on Adopt. Please email us at I doginfo@labsandmore.org if you need assistance. Thank you for looking to a rescue group to fulfill your dream of adding a new dog to your life! Story
Meet Penny! She originally transferred to us a young pup from the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility in 2018. Adopted in 2018, Penny returned to us in July of this year. She was originally listed as a Labrador/Boxer mix pup, but seeing her full adult size and markings, we now have her listed as a Basenji mix. At the end of the day, it's always a best guess! Penny developed anxiety in her previous home which compounded over the years and became fear-based reactivity. We recommend reviewing her origin & progress stories below: Penny's Return: https://www.facebook.com/heartofgoldsshelter/posts/pfbid02whoN43cDPKKKExEqBHq8kNDkwHXBJbQxJfXndK3EhSgGXJ5puaaSwnpfwezrsCRFl Penny's Progress: https://www.facebook.com/heartofgoldsshelter/posts/pfbid02QEToHtcCTP6NbKebvtiZs3yPU3yPAyDeFVDvthiYo8fxSMV9SxP4qRALxSXyDm94l Penny's most recent update: https://www.facebook.com/heartofgoldsshelter/posts/pfbid05LK8sXsTrsnHiopZ1CFCYtcbbptJD5CPuaP12TEzHmHHpEgJ7F54Erm95udPgCiyl Behavioral Considerations: In a foster home setting and being surrounded by those experienced with the nuances of dog behavior, Penny is thriving and enjoys her foster home filled with 5 dogs, one other foster dog (Rocket), and 4 cats. While there are multiple management techniques in place that help her peacefully co-exist in a multi-animal home, Penny will do best in a home that has either: -No pets -An owner with extensive experience in safely managing a multi-dog or multi-animal household (she can sometimes get a little carried away when playing outdoors and is receptive when firmly asking her to slow down. Otherwise, it's back indoors for a short time out!) -An owner experienced with reactive dogs Penny develops a heavy attachment to those she loves. She adores her foster mom and with love, patience, and a structured setting, she will also look at her future mom/dad as though you are her sun, her moon, and all her stars. A loyal gal indeed! We want her to succeed in this second chance at adoption and are looking for an adopter that is not just excited about her adorable face and kissable cheeks (With consent! She's like a cat, affectionate on her terms!) but has the experience and means to care for a dog that isn't looking for the mental overstimulation that dog parks provide. Penny prefers to get her exercise with her people and dogs she has built trust with, and who are respectful of her boundaries. We as humans can definitely empathize with that! While Penny does enjoy cuddle time and down time, she is quite the track star and loves to sprint, explore, chase wild rabbits, and fetch during play time! A home what will keep her active in a safe & controlled environment is where she will thrive! We will send a package of professional training sessions to her future home, to give Penny her best foot forward in a new environment. A trainer coming directly to an adopter's home for these sessions will ensure that she thrives and is helped along through another life change. Regarding COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses: Please reschedule any visits if you are sick.
