Meet Gaia! The mother of our Greek Mythology Litter! She was found in the desert in a ditch with her little ones. She was brought to the imperial county pound where she and her babies were at risk for euthanasia. Luckily, Amazing Strays was able to step in with the help of a foster and saved the family! Mama Gaia is learning to trust humans again. She is very fearful and avoids human touch. She is food motivated but still very skittish. With encouragement when on a leash she will allow for calm touches. She is still decompressing and realizing she's in a safe space. She has not been spayed yet as she's finally finished nursing her little ones so her doggy hormones are still heightened. She deserves a calm foster home where she can learn to build trust and affection with her humans again. We believe she'd do best with older predictable kids while young children might make her nervous. She needs encouragement to go into her crate but once in there she'll sleep through the night. She does well with her current fosters 20 lb dog and would likely do well with other dogs once she's away from her puppies, she's still in protective mode. Meet June! She is a very active and affectionate dog, she loves to go for a walk on a leash and discover new places, she is usually grumpy when other dogs invaded her space, and she jumps on people with tremendous joy, she is very sociable and obedient, but when she plays she usually behaves like a puppy, she loves balls, cloth toys, rope toys. She was abandoned the day she had her 12 puppies, the "owner" went to throw the babies on the hill while June desperately looked for them where she thought her home was, the person who asked us for support to give her shelter and care told us that she went for her puppies, and they were in a box, under the sun, and there were 4 dead puppies in a bag, together with her 8 brothers, the girl took them down to her house so that June was with them, but when we arrived by they only had 5 puppies alive since he brought them back up the hill. June is currently healthy, happy, and chubby. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation to North of San Diego

We rescued our beloved Penny (whippet/hound mix) 6 years ago when she was ~1 year old and she has become a wonderful companion. Personality: Shy around tall men with hats but warms up quickly. Extremely affectionate/goofy; LOVES to cuddle. Energy: Medium. When she’s not relaxing, she loves to play, go on walks and chase laser lights. Training: Good on leash (needs reminders around other dogs); Crate-trained; Knows many commands (occasionally pretends she doesn’t hear!); Will learn more tricks for treats!; Great car companion; Excellent watchdog. Health: Spayed, up to date monthly flea/tick/heart worm medications; She has skin allergies but has responded well to immunotherapy. Care for her skin is now minimal. Penny’s ideal home is an active one with no small children; a home that loves hiking/long walks and snuggling; a home where Penny is the center of attention and gets lots of love/cuddles. Rory is a sweetheart about 8 years old. She was my mother's dog who loved her very much but unfortunately my mom passed away suddenly a few months ago. The moment I heard the awful news I picked Rory up from my moms-even though we're not supposed to have pets- and have been taking care of her since. I gave myself (and Rory) 6 months to adjust but we are now nearing that time. I just knew i didnt want her to go straight to the pound...Shes loving, easy to be around, house trained, doesnt bark, good with kids and other dogs, overall just a sweet soul. She will be missed but I have to get back to my own life and hope theres someone or a family that will cherish her personality as my mom did.
