Story
Oakley is almost 9 years old and has been with our family for nearly four years. She came into our lives while we were house- and dog-sitting, when we realized she wasn’t getting the care she deserved. We brought her home, and she’s been a loving, loyal part of our family ever since. She is incredibly gentle and affectionate, with zero aggression. Oakley is a true “shadow dog” who loves to be close to her people, especially momma. She’s happiest cuddling on the couch, following you from room to room, and giving sweet kisses. As we prepare to welcome a baby, we’re facing some difficult realities. Oakley stays very close underfoot, creating safety concerns when carrying a newborn. In addition, my disabled father-in-law lives with us full time and is highly allergic to dogs. Oakley would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can be someone’s constant companion. This decision is not due to behavior issues—only love and responsibility.

Tucker is a handsome 5 year old Greyhound mix with a big heart and even bigger energy! This playful boy lives for running and romping around outside it is his absolute favorite thing to do! Tucker can be a little shy at first, but once he warms up, he is all tail wags and kisses. He is done great with kids of all ages and enjoys being part of the action. He gets along well with other dogs, but cats are not his cup of tea. He sleeps in his crate at night like a champ and is fully potty trained. Super smart and eager to please, Tucker learns quickly and is always up for a fun challenge. Just a heads up food with red dye does not sit well with his tummy, so he does best on a simple diet. Tucker can be protective when strangers visit the home, but with proper introductions, he settles in. He is an energetic, outgoing guy who would thrive with an active family and a yard to zoom around in. If you are looking for a loyal, loving companion with a zest for life, Tucker might just be your perfect match! For more information on how to adopt, please call the shelter at 863 324 5227 to see if this pet is still available for adoption. Then come to the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 10:30 to 6 Tuesday through Friday, Saturday from 10:30 to 4 closed 1-2 for lunch and the last Friday of every month.
