Story
Meet Speed Racer! 🏁💨And yes...the name fits. The day he arrived, this little guy decided the office was his own personal racetrack and took off doing laps at full speed. If you've been looking for a jogging buddy, hiking partner, or a dog who can keep up with an active lifestyle, Speed Racer may be your guy!At around 15 pounds, he's the perfect compact size. Our best guess is that he's a Mini Australian Shepherd mix, but what he's mixed with is anyone's guess. He's built long, lean, and athletic, almost like a tiny Whippet, and he moves like one too! Whatever his family tree looks like, it clearly sprinkled in plenty of zoomies.Because he came to us as a stray, we don't know his exact age, but we'd estimate he's somewhere between 8 months and 2 years old. He's likely done with most, if not all, of his growing, so don't expect him to get much bigger. The shelter has him a little unsure of himself right now, which is completely understandable. Even so, he's been incredibly sweet, friendly, and affectionate with people. He also seems to think treats are a pretty fantastic invention, which is always a great place to start when it comes to training.Speed Racer is still settling in, so we're learning more about how he does with other dogs, cats, and children. What we do know is that this little guy has a big heart, a fast set of legs, and all the potential to become an amazing companion for someone ready to give him the exercise, guidance, and love he deserves.Ready...set...adopt! 🏁❤️His adoption fee is $200 and this includes his neuter, vaccines, heartworm test, flea and tick prevention and heartworm prevention, and a microchip that we register for you.
