Sallee is a 5 year old female that we believe to be a Whippet mix. She currently weighs about 19 lbs. Sallee seems to have somewhat of a split personality, at least when it comes to her energy level (she is always sweet!). She is sometimes energetic; zooming around the house at her top speed and she also enjoys taking long walks. Her other personality comes out when she is ready to chill and feeling content, she will snuggle up beside you on the couch for as long as you let her. She enjoys her walks and is getting better on a leash than she was a week ago. Sallee has met several other dogs and some kids during her walks, she has not shown any issues during her socialization. Sallee is also ok with her foster home's residential cat. Sallee has not been much of a barker since she came into foster care, so far, she has only barked a few times. She is ok with being in a crate, although she sometimes needs to be bribed to go inside or will need picked up and put in it. She'll whine a little when first put in it but then she will calm down. Sallee came to us with no training, she is doing well learning her doggie manners in her foster home and has come a long way in the short time that she has been with us. All in all, Sallee is a sweet, energetic, fun-loving little girl!     Meet Millie! 6 month old female Beagle/Mountain Cur mix. Loves to be with people and will definitely attach herself . She will snuggle up and sleep next to you for hours if she can. Millie loves other dogs and currently resides in a foster home with her sibling, a cat and 2 large breed dogs. She gets on splendidly with them all. Millie and her sister Lola came from a household with so many pets that training them to eliminate outside was not an option. They are both used to being in a crate and therefore constantly retrieve back to it for that purpose. Millie is still a work in progress but with the weather getting warmer and the ability to be outside more often I believe she will catch on fast . Will you give her a chance ? My namesake is best known for her comedic timing and hysterical sense of humor!! Foster Mom says that i am the funniest dog that she has ever met!! I am outgoing and fun loving!! My favorite past times are going for walks, climbing trees, and sitting on foster Mom's lap for snuggles ( she laughs and tells me that I am not a lap dog...Hahaha..fooled her..yes I am a lap dog...just look where I am sitting...on her lap!!:) I am also extremely intelligent and pick up on "human speak" very quickly. I have a great vocabulary of understanding!! At 2 years young, I have reached my adult weight of 35 lbs of svelteness (I think I just invented a new word!!) I am trim and athletic and will do best in an active home where I can hike and play with my new human (s)!! Of course, it goes without saying, I am completely house trained and crate trained. I get along great with other dogs and have an innate understanding of "dog language"! I know when I can play with a dog and when I need to roll on my back and show submissiveness (this is a fake, as I am not really submissive, but know how to play the game in order to not rock the boat!) But, I am not at all alpha, either. I just want to be happy, play, and co exist. I walk well on the leash( although Foster Mom usually walks me off leash) and I know to come when called. I am the Court Jester of the ranch and always have a smile on my face. However, I am protective of the ranch as well and always bark to let my Foster Family know if someone arrives or comes into our space. I am not aggressive, just protective. My ancestry is from the "Survivor Dogs" of the Guatemalan Volcano,Pakaya. My ancestors had to be fleet of foot and clever in order to survive, and I certainly inherited those traits.
