Story
Hi there, I’m Rosie! I’m an 11-year-old whippet/miniature pinscher mix, a petite 15-pound lady with a sleek black coat and an even softer heart. I spent about five wonderful years with my people before they passed away, and I miss them dearly. For now, I’m living in their old care home with some very kind humans who are fostering me until I find my next forever family. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I’m a total cuddlebug—truly, my happiest place in the world is curled up right next to you… or better yet, curled up on your lap. I’m a professional couch potato, but I do enjoy my daily neighborhood walks (just nothing off-leash). I’m leash trained, potty trained, crate trained, and I take a hip and joint supplement to keep me moving smoothly. I get along well with visiting dogs and kids, and when my foster humans leave the house, I’m trusted to roam freely. At night, I sleep on the bed or in my crate—don’t worry, the door stays open so I can come snuggle anytime. Now, I do have one quirk: I bark. Loudly. Frequently. I’m very protective of my home and my people, so when someone knocks or walks up to the door, I sound the alarm. But once they’re inside and part of the “pack,” I settle right down and become my usual sweet, affectionate self. Because of this, I’m probably not the best fit for an apartment, and I’d love a quieter home with humans who are around most of the time. I’ve always been the only pet, but I could do fine with another friendly dog—it would just be a new experience for me. Mostly, I want someone who doesn’t mind a loyal little shadow and who enjoys snuggling on the couch watching TV with a 15-pound lovebug in their lap. I was adored completely by my humans until they passed in August 2024 and November 2025. My foster family wants nothing more than for me to spend my golden years in another home where I’ll be just as cherished—safe, cozy, comfortable, and surrounded by love. If you’re looking for a loyal, cuddly companion who will love you with her whole heart, I’m your girl.

Story
In early June an unexpected visitor showed up in the middle of the night. My dogs were barking so I went outside to see them playing with a beautiful dog that appears to be a Whippet/Shepherd mix. About a week later while I was still looking for the owner, our unexpected guest went into heat and hooked up with my Golden Retriever. So I decided to name her Mercy and take care of her during her pregnancy. But now that most of the pups are either gone or spoken for, Mercy needs a forever home. I can no longer keep her. Mercy is wary of strangers but she is comfortable with me on a leash and is very loving once she warms up to you. She loves to play with my other dogs and doesn’t chase my cat when I’m present. But if kitty runs, she will chase. Mercy stays in the kennel with my other dogs. She is house trained in the sense that holds her poop until I take them for a walk. Mercy readily returns your affection with love and gratitude.

Dandi! Watching this beautiful Great Pyrenees mix (likely with whippet or greyhound) run is watching poetry in motion. She is fast, graceful, & can turn on a dime. This is all done in play or merely for pure joy. Dandi does not have a prey drive. She is fine with cats. Dandi gets along famously with dogs of all sizes. This is fantastic as she must have at least one canine companion to help her manage her very high energy levels. Once her frenetic high spiritedness has been drained, she plays contentedly on her own with toys. She is affectionate, craves attention. Her ideal home: An active family Older children At least one canine companion A fenced yard with room for her to run She is not the type of dog to be crated & left alone for long periods.
