Meet Toby ❤️
Toby is a 1 year old, 43 lb. German Shepherd/Basenji mix with so much potential and so much love to give.
This sweet boy is loyal, smart, and ready to grow into the incredible dog he was always meant to be. Toby came to us from a high-kill shelter where he was on the euthanasia list, and now he has a second chance at life—and he deserves someone who will help him feel safe, confident, and loved.
Toby can be a little skittish when meeting new people or new dogs, but once he realizes he is safe, his heart opens up completely. Underneath that shy exterior is an affectionate, loving, deeply loyal dog who wants to bond with his person and learn about the world at his own pace.
Because he is still young, Toby will thrive with someone who is committed to training, patience, structure, and daily exercise. He is intelligent and eager to learn, and with the right guidance, he has everything it takes to become an amazing lifelong companion.
Toby would do best in a calmer, lower-energy home with kids 11 and up. He may do well with medium to large dogs after proper introductions, but he would not be a good fit for a home with cats.
Toby doesn’t need perfection. He needs patience. He needs love. He needs someone who sees the brave, beautiful dog inside him and is willing to help him grow.
Toby's adoption fee is $295 and he is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
