I came into the shelter after my owner sadly passed away, and now I'm looking for my forever home.These days, I’m living it up with two other dog friends, and I fit in just perfectly! I absolutely adore people and am always ready for my daily strolls around the neighborhood. You’ll often find me stopping to greet everyone I meet—head scratches and belly rubs are my favorite!I’ve got a curious side, too! I love observing squirrels and cats as they scurry by, and I still enjoy a good game of chase with a ball.I may be a senior gal, but I’m young at heart and ready to share my love with my forever family. Meet Sadie, a sweet 7 year old, 35 lb Whippet mix who is ready to be someone’s loyal shadow. She was sadly surrendered to the shelter due to her prior owner’s health. She’s a gentle, laid back girl who loves being close to her people, with short bursts of playful energy where she’ll zoom happily around the yard. She enjoys carrying a ball as she wanders around outside, walks beautifully on leash, and is an easy, relaxed passenger on car rides. At night, she sleeps soundly in bed and loves the comfort of being near her person. Sadie thrives on companionship, so she would do best with someone who is home most of the time. She thrives as the only pet and requires a cat-free home where she can soak up all the love and attention. She is currently in a home with multiple small dogs, but because she craves one-on-one attention from her humans, she would be best suited as an only dog or a home with fewer, low-key canine companions. If you’re looking for a loyal, mellow companion with a fun, playful streak, Sadie might be the perfect match. Her adoption fee is $165 and includes shots, spay, microchip, and has had the heartworm shot (She is currently heartworm positive. but already started on the slow kill treatment — included in her adoption fee, and should have a negative test result very soon). Story
We are looking to rehome our 4 year old dog, StellaLuna. She was rescued in 2023 and had quite a bit of trauma when we found her. She was starved, so she becomes aggressive towards other dogs around food. Up until this last week, separating her and our other dog during meals had kept this behavior from growing, but Thursday evening she severely attacked our other dog without warning. Our other dog is alive, but acquired several injuries. We are also about to have another baby, and are nervous this behavior could continue towards her. She is a very loving and sweet dog to her humans, and has done wonderfully with our other 2 children (6 and 8), but as a precaution, she really needs to be in a home that does not have other animals or toddler sized children. She is fully vaccinated but not spayed. We are asking for a rehoming fee of $50 in order to assure she goes to a loving home.
