Meet Sadie, a sweet 7 year old, 35 lb Whippet mix who is ready to be someone’s loyal shadow. She was sadly surrendered to the shelter due to her prior owner’s health. She’s a gentle, laid back girl who loves being close to her people, with short bursts of playful energy where she’ll zoom happily around the yard. She enjoys carrying a ball as she wanders around outside, walks beautifully on leash, and is an easy, relaxed passenger on car rides. At night, she sleeps soundly in bed and loves the comfort of being near her person. Sadie thrives on companionship, so she would do best with someone who is home most of the time. She thrives as the only pet and requires a cat-free home where she can soak up all the love and attention. She is currently in a home with multiple small dogs, but because she craves one-on-one attention from her humans, she would be best suited as an only dog or a home with fewer, low-key canine companions. If you’re looking for a loyal, mellow companion with a fun, playful streak, Sadie might be the perfect match. This striking pup is equal parts heart-melter and survivor. With one piercing blue eye and one soulful brown, he’s already mastered the art of stealing hearts—but his story goes far beyond his looks. After bravely fighting through parvo and not one, but two hind leg fractures, this resilient boy is now on the road to recovery. His left leg is healing nicely, while his right is still supported in a splint as he continues to mend. Despite everything he’s been through, his spirit remains unshaken—he’s bright, alert, eating like a champ, and already putting weight on all four paws (with just a little wobble on that right side). Right now, he’s taking things slow with crate rest, short carried potty breaks, and lots of TLC. He’s a gentle, easygoing pup with no behavioral concerns—just a sweet soul who wants to feel safe, cozy, and loved. He may have a few bumps ahead on his healing journey, but this boy has already proven he’s tougher than most. With the right foster or forever home, he’s going to grow into an incredible companion.

Eel is a loyal companion who forms deep bonds with her humans. Once she trusts you, her devotion is unwavering. She's looking for a patient and understanding adopter who can provide her with the love, training, and quiet environment she deserves. She has also lived with cats in a previous home! She's a quick learner with a passion for mental stimulation. Currently working with a private trainer, Eel is already mastering commands like sit, down, shake, and place. Her exceptional recall and ability to pick up new tricks quickly make her a joy to train. Imagine the thrill of teaching her new skills and watching her confidence grow! She recently sent the following letter back to us to update us on her progress and wanted to share it with her future family: "I’ve had the opportunity to receive training beyond the APA! walls and am currently living in the Houston area. Now with some extra coursework, I’m ready to graduate out of the sheltering system and into an adoptive home! And as soon as I find a home, my spot at Gray Wolf gives another dog just like me a chance to broaden their horizons! I’ve been working on my dog socialization skills, leash skills, and trust-building with humans. I used to have a hard time meeting new people and getting easily overstimulated, but these days, I’m more centered, confident, and at ease. I’ve been successfully introduced to many different personalities and environments, and now I look to my handler/person for guidance and direction so that our experiences stay positive. My true spunky and fun personality, after decompressing outside of a busy shelter, has really come out!"
