"What did the cricket say to the squirrel??" How would we know?? Cricket's don't TALK!! Ok, now that we have broken the ice, let me tell you all about me :) I am a strong survivor. I came from the most DISMAL situation you can imagine.... born to an unwanted mother, sickly and sad, I was dumped with her as well as one of our sisters dead bodies, like we had no meaning in this world... BUT, LOVE WON OUT!!! I was seen by a kind woman who reached out to another kind woman who reached out to a rescuer in San Antonio- 5 hours away!!! AND we were SAVED! So how is that for a rags to riches story?? It is MY story. I am a happy girl now, I have come SO FAR from the scared, skinny, starving, mangy pup I was, but I haven't reached the finish line YET!! That's where you come in... I am ready for my forever family. We are going to be a little picky, if you don't mind. I prefer a home, with heat and ac, with food and with LOVE. Older kids would be great, I can still be a little nervous with new people (who can blame me?) and I would love another calm, confident dog to help me with my energy. She has 3 legs but it does not stop her one bit. She can run and jump and have a great time in the yard. She favors lying down over sitting. She is a silky coated black beauty. We can see Peggy Sue doing well in a home where she can get lots of attention and playtime with her family. She is curious and also enjoys being held. She has a fun personality and she is very smart. She enjoys playing with toys and other dogs here at the rescue. She is just a fun-loving pup who can’t wait to find a home of her own! She would be a wonderful, loyal companion to grow up in just about any family environment. Peggy Sue is spayed, up-to-date on all vaccinations, microchipped and her adoption fee is $375. Charlie is a sweet and cuddly boy. He loves his brother Benny. He likes to go for walks. What he really likes to do is cuddle up with you. His original owners have recently passed away. The husband in late 2023 and the wife in February 2025. We brought Charlie and his brother, Benny, in to live with us (and our 2dogs and our cat). We have older children. Charlie gets along fine with everyone except for one of my dogs. It is not Charlie’s fault for not getting along with one of my dogs it is hers. He gets along great with my other dog and cats. We have been crate training for bed and haven’t had any accidents since.
