Kirby is a gorgeous 6 yo scruffy terrier mix, with the most beautiful amber eyes. He is a happy dog who loves to play with squeaky toys, take walks and relax on the couch with his favorite hoomans. He loves to dig for buried treasure and will let you dress him up in costumes for the different holidays. He is smart, walks great on a leash, is food motivated and eager to please. Kirby would make a great walking companion, but he's just as happy to lay at your feet, amuse himself with a toy or just relax until you are ready to take a break. Kirby is NOT a first time adopter dog. He needs a special and experienced adopter, preferably a female, who is patient and knowledgeable about scared, timid dogs. Kirby is nervous when meeting new people and will require multiple visits with a prospective adopter before being ready to go to a new home. However, once Kirby trusts you he is loving, affectionate and the best company. Kirby is a staff and volunteer favorite. One volunteer has called him the love of your life kind of dog. Kirby would prefer to be the only animal in the family, but we don't think that is too much to ask. He has so much love to give and will thrive in the right home! . Kirby is UTD on vaccines, microchipped and neutered. Applications are being accepted and qualified applicants will be contacted. Half of Kirby's adoption fee is sponsored by a Jelly Place's volunteer.

Hello! I am looking for experienced adopter for an adorable dog. She was abandoned and had been running the streets for weeks before we were able to catch her. She is warming up to people and is now trusting them. She has shown no aggression at all, ever. She is learning how to walk on a leash but still needs more training with it. She does not go to the bathroom inside. We take her out multiple times a day on leash and she does her business then. I do not think she can roam free in a yard yet, as I think she may still try and run, because she is used to being a stray and running off. This is where the adopters will need to focus their efforts. This is the only behavioral "issue" I have seen. She has only barked at one large dog but does not bark at my dog or my cats. She seems uninterested in them or wants to play. She loves my son and is a huge cuddle bug. She will make the perfect family member for someone. She is the sweetest and just wants to be loved and give love back.

Cleo is a one-eyed wonder and has completely forgotten about losing an eye in a dog attack. Agile and athletic, Cleo is a 12 lb., 2 yr-old Terrier mix and displays Terrier behavior such as loving to play with toys, loving to go for long walks and is inquisitive about anything new in her world. Cleo came from a situation where she was under-socialized and displays fearful behavior. We are working on behavior training and she is becoming much calmer. Little Cleo is potty trained with regular potty breaks. Cleo is a one or 2 person dog, and makes friends with new people very slowly. She lives OK with a companion dog, and an ocassiional dog visitor, but we think she would prefer to be an only dog in her future home. Due to her young age and training, Cleo will age into a proper little companion. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Cleo is $300. Bugsy is a great buddy to have around. He is about 18 lbs and around 6- 7 years old. He enjoys going on walks and loves to wander around in the yard in his wheels or scooting along, play with his toys, happy all snuggled up with his people, and just hanging around. Bugsy loves the toys at his foster home and doesn’t mind sharing them. He is the sweetest and most loving guy you will ever meet. He has been around all sizes and breeds of dogs and gets along great with them He enjoys the company of other dogs but he would be just as happy to be an only dog if his person was around most of the time to keep him company. If not then he needs a canine companion for company. Bugsy is very affectionate but doesn’t require a ton of attention to be content. He is pretty low-maintenance and will happily follow your lead. Bugsy doesn’t use his back legs but do not be fooled since he is still an active guy and can go many places with his wheels or rear harness. He is very good around young kids and lives with one now. Bugsy is exceptionally loving and eager to please. He knows what he is being told and if you are looking for a smarty to be part of your family he is the guy. He will bring lots of warmth and terrier-silliness to your home. Give him a chance and he will steal your heart. Bugsy also needs a new foster home if not adopted. Kobi is a super sweet guy who is very loving and really smart. He is also a hugger. He is about 3 years old and 17lbs with short legs. He catches on to what you are telling him fast and responds pretty quickly to it. He gets along great with all the dogs in his foster home and settled into the pack in a week. Kobi loves to run around with the ball in the yard, sunbathe, and do the zoomies. In the house, he likes to sit next to you and keep you company wherever you are. He is a loyal little guy, and you matter most in his life. He loves to be held like a baby and will stay like that as long as you want. He is good with older dog-savvy children, but he can get annoyed if they do not leave him alone when he wants to be and will grump. He is a very good boy who just has a lot to say. He is also a great watchdog. He will bark when he hears noises near his home, so he would not do well in an apartment building. Kobi is house-trained, walks well on a leash, rides in the car well, sleeps in his own bed, and loves to be covered! He mostly just hangs out, and he would be a good addition to a home with another or multiple dogs. He wouldn't do well as an only dog with his parents gone at work all day, since it is clear he loves to have others around to be with. Kobi is being fostered in Santa Clara, CA.
