Story
HANDSOME, SWEET & FUN:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 18 lbs. Hi, I’m Lexington! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and am so glad to be here. I was adopted, but it turned out that living with cats just wasn’t the right fit for me. So, I’m back with Mostly Mutts in a wonderful foster home while I wait for my perfect match - a loving, kitty-free family to call my own! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’m selective about my dog friends, and my initial reaction when I see other dogs isn’t always my best. However, there’s another family dog that comes to stay with me every few months, and we coexist very well together. My foster will be happy to talk with you about the introduction that seems to work best for me. Larger dogs can be intimidating to me, so I wouldn’t want to live with one. If you have a dog that sounds like it might be a good match, let’s meet and see how we do. That said, I think I’d be perfectly happy being your one-and-only pet, too! / No cats please as I have a strong prey drive. / I enjoy spending time with the sweet 11-year-old granddaughter who visits my foster home. So, if you have children around that age or older, let’s meet! I’m not comfortable with younger children though and did nip a 7-year-old during a resource-guarding incident in my former home.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m an affectionate, lovable, happy-natured  boy who’s a total cuddler. I have a great balance of playful and chill, with a fun, silly personality that keeps things entertaining.  I haven’t been destructive with furniture or anything at all in my foster home because I know what’s mine and what isn’t.  I absolutely love people and attention - I’ll happily jump up to be close to you and will even try to sit right in your lap if you let me.  I’m a very sweet, lovable dog who truly enjoys being with my humans – I’m such a good boy! / Energy level: 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  In my foster home, I know the ‘sit’ command and understand what ‘no’ means. When it’s mealtime, I’ll come quickly when I hear the words ‘dog food,’ and if someone mentions a ‘treat,’ you can bet I’ll come running! I also understand ‘go for a walk?’ and love being told I’m a ‘good boy’ - because who doesn’t want to be a good boy? My leash manners are pretty good, though I can get a little worked up when I see other dogs, so my foster simply gives me some extra space by crossing the street. / When my foster leaves for a little while, I do cry and bark a bit, but it stops after a while because when she returns, the home is quiet.  All the same, best no apartment/condo type home as we want the neighbors to love me like they do in my current foster home. At bedtime, I enjoy sleeping in my foster’s bed or on a dog bed next to it. / I’ve had a few accidents in the house. The problem is that there are so many exciting things in the yard - chipmunks, squirrels, and lizards - and I feel it’s my responsibility to keep them out of our yard! Sometimes I get so distracted by my backyard patrol duties that I forget to take care of my business. To help me stay focused, my foster takes me outside on a leash, which makes it easier for me to remember why I’m out there in the first place.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I have lots of fun favorites!  I love blankets and soft toys - I’ll even make little nests out of them.  Tennis balls are a big hit, and I have a great time playing tug-of-war or chasing a ball.  I also love squeaky toys.  I’m a big fan of tasty treats like chicken, cheese, yak cheese bones, bully sticks and even broccoli.  I also really enjoy soaking up the sunshine in a cozy spot.  More than anything, I love attention - snuggling, being a lap dog, and going for walks where I can greet neighbors and I enjoy car rides, too! / I don’t like being left alone for long and can feel anxious when I am, so I’d do best in a home where someone is around a good bit to hang out with.  Like all dogs, I wouldn’t be happy without plenty of love, attention, exercise, and training.          • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m a wonderful dog looking for a wonderful family that will treasure me!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  August 27, 2026, 3:43 pm

Story
A SWEET SENIOR COMPANION:  Approx. 11 years old / Approx. 33 lbs.  Hi, my name is Meeko!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and have been soaking up the love from the dedicated volunteers and in my foster home ever since!  I can’t remember how I ended up at animal control, but I’m thrilled to get a new chance to find a loving home and family – hopefully soon!  I’m currently in a foster home while I wait for my furever family to come for me! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and did not like them, so I want to be your only dog.  I don’t react to other dogs that I see on my walks, nor am I bothered by the two big dogs that live upstairs in my foster home, whom I live separately from but see frequently from afar in the yard.  / Cats unknown, however, I have shown a bit of prey drive with other small animals. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and was nervous around them, so kids 15+ may be a good match for me.  Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a small guy with a big, loveable personality!  I’m described as a sweet, gentle, fun-natured and playful, spunky guy.  That’s right, I still have a spring in my step at 11 years old!  I enjoy cuddling/snuggling with my people and will climb right into your lap if you let me!  I’m not shy and can be vocal when I want your attention, so condo or apartment living would likely not be a good fit for me.  I was also not shy about showing my elation, with grateful sighs of appreciation during my shelter bath.  I am a smart, well-mannered, and friendly guy who is sure to bring joy to my new home! / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I have already shown that I know several commands: ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’ and ‘come’.  I also walk nicely on a leash, utilize proper door etiquette, and accept friendly strangers without jumping.  I like to go on walks with my favorite stuffy toy in my mouth – so cute!  I am treat-motivated and love to please, so I bet you can teach me even more – including taking advantage of the free training classes that Mostly Mutts offers to all their adoptive pups – who says an old dog can’t learn new tricks?! / My crate manners are good in my foster home, I quite like it in there actually, it’s like my ‘safe’ place!  / My potty habits were good on the shelter schedule and are good in my foster home, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to spend time with my foster and go for my daily walks and occasional car rides.  I love people and greet them politely and always with an energetic tail wag.  Playing fetch, chew toys, and tennis balls are my favorite things.  You are not likely to find a bigger treat fan than me, either.  Another thing I enjoy is peanut butter filled Kongs and I enjoy going for walks and surveying my world.  In my foster home, I love to crawl into my bed and cover myself with a cozy blanket – my foster mom jokes that when I peek out of the blanket, I look like ET! / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I came in with some broken teeth and needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived and thankfully MM has done that for me.  I’ve got a skin tag on my back leg, but it doesn’t bother me, and I hope you won’t mind it either.  I am taking an affordable over-the-counter joint supplement, which is good for all older doggies. I am looking for a wonderful furever home with a loving family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  August 27, 2026, 3:43 pm
