Story
Meet Scooby and Brandy! These two senior pups came in together but don't seem extremely bonded and could be separated to each go to their own perfect family. Brandy is a little shy at first but warms up in no time, she's low energy, sweet, and has the cutest curly whiskers that we've ever seen. Scooby has a touch of anxiety and absolutely loves his people. They have not lived with kids or cats before, but they may be able to do well with older, savvy, and gentle children in the home who know how to respect their space at first. As senior dogs, Scooby and Brandy should receive routine medical care to help them feel healthy, loved, and spoiled throughout their golden years. Brandy and Scooby are currently in foster care, if you are interested in meeting them or have any questions, please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and email foster@parl.org to schedule an appointment.

Cassie is a medium energy, happy -go-lucky year old girl in search of her forever family. She likes to play with other dogs, both big and small and does not mind cats. Do you have another dog in your family already? She would love that!!!! But if you only have attention, snuggles and time to offer her..... she would love that situation as well! Cassie is currently enjoying life in her foster home learning to the joy of squeaky stuffed toys - her favorite - how to be part of a family and running and wrestling outside with her doggy friends. She is doing well on a leash, is house trained and sleeps well in her crate at night. Cassie is about 43lbs, spayed, microchipped, up to date on vetting and house trained. Story
🐾 Meet Bishop – The Wonder Pup🐾 This little sweetheart is Bishop! He’s a young (born March 2024) smaller sized terrier mix that is one of the special ones. Bishop is a neurological puppy, before you stop reading, don’t let that scare you. He lives in a foster home with other dogs, cats, and loves people and most importantly, he’s healthy and happy. Bishop came to us from the priority list at a local shelter. He was emaciated, blind, and had some skin issues but after a little TLC and a vet visit, he’s basically a normal pup! He can see up close, differentiate between shade and sunlight, and recognize large objects, allowing him to follow along. Don’t worry, Bishop gets into the usual puppy mischief—bumps and all! Once he maps out a room or yard, he’s unstoppable and loves a good zoomie or chase. :D His eyes are healthy and the vet thinks his vision could improve as he gets older. Bishop is already learning commands and he’s doing well with house training and leash walking. He’ll need a patient family, preferably one experienced with special needs or willing to work with a trainer, and a home with no or minimal stairs. If this quirky happy boy, might be the one for you, please reach out by completing a form at the link below. We'll forward that to his foster family who will reach out to you directly to answer any questions. ====================================================================================== If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED.
