Pickles is ready for a forever home! This active pup is about 1.5 years old. She is a Jack Russell mixed breed with gorgeous markings. She LOVES to play and enjoys anytime outside of her kennel. She is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed. *PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO STRINGENT OUT OF STATE HEALTH CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS WE ARE NOW ONLY ADOPTING TO RHODE ISLAND RESIDENTS*. We apologize for the inconvenience. HOW TO GO ABOUT ADOPTING: 1. Come in during adoption hours to apply and full out an application completely. We have applications on site. Open adoption hours take place at 44 Worthington Road in Cranston, RI. We are open every Wednesday 3-7pm, Thursday/Friday 12-2pm, and Saturday 10am-2pm. 2. We require proof of homeownership (tax form, deed, mortgage statement) or landlord approval (a copy of your lease that clearly states you are allowed to have a dog, puppy, cat, or kitten OR written and signed consent from your landlord. 3. We require copies of up to date vet records for any current pets. Helpful reminders: *We do not do same day adoptions. *Please bring the entire family in to meet the animal you are interested in. *We will setup a meet and greet with your dog at a later date. PLEASE do not bring your dog with you when you come in to apply.

I’d first like to start this by saying we love Brady! It’s the reason we are trying to find him a better home. This decision isn’t an easy one that we made overnight. We adopted him through a rescue in July of 2023. He was (8-10wks) and very sick. He had Kennel cough and a heart murmur. He has since been cleared of both! He’s a VERY energetic boy. We broke the number one rule when we got him and that’s “research the breed”. We got him on impulse and didn’t research his breed. We were told he’s a Jack Russell mix. That’s all. My husband and I both work a lot and don’t have the time to dedicate for his energy and training. He learns fast though! He’s fully house trained and knows simple commands. He does have food aggression but only with special treats not his daily meals. We have another dog and he’s great with him and three cats that he loves. He has never been aggressive with either of them. He just needs a home better to suit his needs. More time and exercise.

Clara is a Jack Russell we're estimating to be at about three years old. She's a shining example of the breed - a high energy, sweet girl who could work until her little legs give out! As soon as there's a tennis ball or plush toy in sight, she's locked on and ready to play fetch for the next few hours. She's fantastic at it, too, chasing no matter where it goes, catching mid-air and bringing it right back to you with a little toss so it lands right in your lap for another round. She's quick to warm up to people and with a good few scratches and rubs, she'll sit on your lap and claim you as her own. She doesn't appear to know any commands at the moment, but with how passionate she is for the things that do catch her attention, it should be easy to harness that focused energy into learning her cues. She is incredibly intelligent as well, proving to us how quickly her mind works during her evaluation. She'll require regular exercise, play time, and mental stimulation. If left to boredom, this is when dogs typically like to get into trouble and we'd like to avoid that at all costs! She'll come spayed, microchipped, with her Rabies and distemper vaccines, a heartworm test, her flea and tick treatment for the month, and her heartworm preventative for the month. Ollie is a one and a half year old male, neutered and current on vaccinations. Ollie previously lived with two other dogs but was not keen on the idea of sharing things with them so he found himself at the animal shelter. He's a pretty classic Jack and if you're familiar with the breed then you know what that entails!! He is absolutely comical and very busy. Like, super busy; chasing tennis balls, bugs, rolling on the ground (while holding a toy!), going for walks and finding good spots to dig!  Adoption donation $650 Age 1 year weight 30 lbs Sophie is a sweet and gentle girl who is shy at  first but then when she warms up becomes very attached to her people. She and her sister showed up at a house in a rural part of northern Mississippi, they were likely dumped. Sophie took a little time to settle in to her foster home but is now very comfortable, she likes to snuggle with her Foster Mom and follow her around the house. Sophie loves to play with the other dogs the foster home and is fine with the cats..she is very mellow and is an easy girl, she would fit in well with a family or if her owner worked, she would just nap, she is just a gentle and quiet girl who deserves a loving family of her own. Meet Skipper! ❤️ 🐾 Skipper is (estimated at 8 years young) a auburn chipper male. Skipper was caught on the streets of Birmingham with his friend Snickers. So, we honestly think they came from the same home. Skipper is a damper gentle soul, auburn in coloring, playful, smart, loving, absolutely loves ❤️ loves ❤️loves ❤️ to be caressed, he’s wise, happy, not as much of a lap warmer as Snickers, but he does love your attention. He has long graceful legs and is a whoot. 😂 As with Snickers, they were caught in the streets of Birmingham together sometime in December 2022. Both are both house trained with regular trips outside. A fenced backyard would be great and preferred! Since they are believed to have lived outside on their own for a time, being on the leash is a learning experience. When they are together, if they see other fur babies they get really excited and like to bark. Which is probably, how they survived on their own for so long as a way to protect themselves being so small and older. Even though Skipper eventually warms up to new dogs, it takes a while, and he would probably be happiness as an only dog in his next home. Skipper is very much loved in his foster home.
