The "Hairless in NYC" Warning Viejita is mostly hairless. Coming from sunny Mexico to a New York winter is a major shock to the system. Location Priority: Priority is given to residents of the 5 boroughs of NYC. Out-of-Borough Applicants: You are welcome to apply, but you must be willing to travel into NYC for: The transport pick-up on Feb 28. All veterinary services and check-ups. Mandatory adoption events. Medical Status Viejita arrives fully vetted: Vaccinated (Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella) Spayed & Microchipped Tested for vector-borne illnesses Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Ready to give this senior girl the retirement she deserves? Submit your Dog Foster Application ASAP to be considered for her arrival on February 28! To apply to foster/foster-to-adopt to adopt Viejita, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. Story
Meet Tyler 2–3 years old | 15 lbs | Arriving in Morristown, NJ on December 28th Tyler is a quiet, gentle pup who has already come a long way — and now he's ready to take the next step toward the loving home he deserves. He was rescued by The Sato Project from a heartbreaking hoarding case in Manatí, Puerto Rico, where he lived in a small home with more than 30 other dogs. After such a tough beginning, Tyler is now healthy and preparing to fly to Morristown, NJ, where he hopes a kind, patient family will be waiting to welcome him. Tyler is shy and timid, especially in new situations, but there’s a softness in him that shines through. With time, consistency, and gentle love, he will begin to trust and show his true personality — a quiet companion who just wants to feel safe. He would do best in a calm, understanding home, possibly with another gentle dog to help guide him. He doesn't need much — just someone who will give him space, patience, and the love he's never truly known. If you're the kind of person who finds beauty in helping a shy dog feel brave, Tyler may be your perfect match. To Adopt: Fill out an application at thesatoproject.org/applicationform. Questions? Email us at adoption@thesatoproject.org About The Sato Project: The Sato Project has been working hard since 2011 to rescue and rehabilitate the stray dogs of Puerto Rico, known locally as “satos.” To date, we’ve saved over 8,000 dogs and are committed to stopping the overpopulation crisis with spay/neuter and vaccination programs. Your adoption helps us continue this vital work.

He is estimated to be 2–3 years old and weighs 20 lbs — the perfect compact companion. This sweet boy will be flying to Morristown, NJ on December 28th to meet his future family and start his new life. Because of his past, Adrian will need a loving, patient, and understanding home — one that will give him time, kindness, and reassurance as he adjusts to a world that is finally safe. In return, he has so much love to give and is eager to bond with the humans who show him compassion.
