About the Lady: Name: Viejita (Spanish for "elderly woman") Stats: 9-year-old Senior Female | 22 lbs Breed: Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless) Mix Social: Friendly with people and other dogs. The "Hairless in NYC" Warning Viejita is mostly hairless. Coming from sunny Mexico to a New York winter is a major shock to the system. Her new family must have a turtleneck and puffer coat ready for her arrival—NYC winters are no joke for a hairless pup! Important Logistics & Expectations Training: Like many international rescues, Viejita will need patience and a refresher on house-training and leash-walking starting on Day 1. Limited Info: We have no further photos or history at this time. We are looking for a hero who is ready to welcome her based on the "mystery" of rescue! Location Priority: Priority is given to residents of the 5 boroughs of NYC. Out-of-Borough Applicants: You are welcome to apply, but you must be willing to travel into NYC for: The transport pick-up on Feb 28. All veterinary services and check-ups. Mandatory adoption events. Hello Northeastern people! My name is Zelda, and I am a Coated Xolo/Chihuahua mix puppy, approximately 5 months old, weighing 13 lbs. I was found with my brother, Sully, on the side of the road in La Vernia, Texas. Thankfully, a family spotted us, picked us up, and reached out to 4 Little Paws Rescue. We are now safe and sound, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and ready to find our forever homes! My foster mom says I am a happy girl with lots of playful energy, a little shy when meeting for the first time, not quite as outgoing as Sully, but sweet and easy, active and playful with other dogs and puppies. 🩷 Rescue Story Lina was rescued just before euthanasia from "Jeongeup Shelter" in South Korea. Thanks to timely intervention, she was given a second chance at life and moved into foster care, where her bright and affectionate personality has truly blossomed. 🌿 Temperament & Behavior Lina is friendly and social. On walks, she shows curiosity toward other dogs and cats, but when she meets a cat, she simply sniffs briefly and walks away calmly. She gets along well with other dogs and can live in a multi-dog household. She may show a bit of jealousy at times, as many girls do, but she has never shown aggression or biting behavior. She is extremely affectionate and loves attention. She is friendly with all people, though she is especially drawn to women and seems to have a soft spot for women in their 50s. 🚶 Walking & Daily Life Lina enjoys leisurely walks with plenty of time to sniff and explore. She is always walked using a double leash for safety. Her shedding level is moderate to slightly high, about 6 out of 10. She is not picky with food and is fed high-quality kibble. Her regular diet includes Acana Free-Run Duck or Blue Buffalo Salmon. Treats are given sparingly, about once a week. 🏡 Habits & Training Lina primarily does her potty outdoors. She goes on walks in the morning and evening, ranging from one hour to sometimes up to two hours. She does well with baths. While brushing hasn’t been necessary due to her coat type, she enjoys being touched and handled. She does not show separation anxiety. When her foster returns home, she simply greets them happily with tail wags and no destructive behavior. She barks only occasionally—once when she is in a great mood, or briefly in response to loud motorcycle delivery noises. She may experience mild motion sickness on longer car rides, such as trips to nearby camping areas, but she has never vomited. 💛 Likes & Personality Lina loves walking side by side with her foster mom and truly enjoys greeting and meeting her dog friends. Her gentle nature and affectionate personality make her a joy to be around. She is currently living in a foster home. ✨ Personality (Three Words): Innocent, affectionate, sweet.
